Thompson, easily. A couple years down the line once Thompson hits his prime this will be laughable. Green is just a good role player.

Green is a much better defensively. The spurs need a guard that can cover tony's lack of height and just defense in general and Green fits the bill perfectly. Green is one of the best 1 defender in the league tbh and offensively, the spurs don't really need another guy like thompson.

Danny green's defense is overrated. Thompson's defense is not worse than Green's. add on to the fact that Thompson is taller, with similar wingspan to green, he does not lose out on the defensive end. Offensively, theres no comparison at all. One can shoot threes consistently, on the dribble 2s consistently, and even layup like a normal nba player. The other cant even shoot threes consistently, cant do anything else, and gets lost on defense most of the time and bites on shot fakes too much.

if the spurs had thompson last year they might of won the ship. lol green is a shooter, thompsons game is much more well rounded.

For Mark's system, sure. In Pop's system, maybe, maybe not.
Klay is a perfect fit for SA and pop tbh, an actual SG that can play defense.. we can agree to disagree
Yeah yeah, everyone we don't have is a perfect fit in SA, but Klay's ass didn't get to the Finals last year. You scorned housewife-like Spurs fans need to get over it and just move forward with the team you have. All we need is a chucker with tunnel vision. His daddy didn't work out for SA either but Frank... that was a great trade.

Obviously, Danny Green's threes have been essential to the Spurs' success but Klay can do so much more than Green in the Spurs system. Can't say the same for Green when you pair him up with Steph in Sanfo
i dont think klay has done anything defensively worth mentioning...
Because Golden State doesn't play a lot of defense. If you teach Klay how to play real defense I think he will pick it up. Does anyone of you really think Danny Green is there for defensive purposes? He's there for shooting, some defense and more shooting. Whatever deficiencies he may have on defense is covered by the Spurs team defense.

Pop and Green have both said millions of times that Green's role is to defend. Pop pulls Green from the game when he miss defensive assignments, and not when he miss open threes. Green said it alot of times in the interviews already.
