He's scoring in Europe. They are not as athletic, and they don't stress defense like the NBA does.
    what???

he's 6-7, he has barely the length to guard sf, and not even the best ones . Considering his speed, it's almost impossible to think he'll be an nba player, but he can still work on his athleticism, leg strength and overall pace, if he combines it with a decent defensive iq, he could be an nba rotational player. It takes a lot of effort though. (i obviously don't even consider him as a pf, that's simply impossible no matter how hard the effort)
All I can say about this analysis is Paul Pierce anyone. DeShaun Thomas has much athleticism as Paul Pierce did when he first came into the league. And like Pierce, Thomas is a scorer. I am not saying he is Paul Pierce, but not the most athletic SF have made it in the NBA, especially ones that can shoot the ball as well as Thomas.

Thomas went up against 1st and 2nd year NBA players in the Summer League and more than held his own.

I call bull . Pierce wasn't overly athletically gifted, but he's LeBron compared to Thomas. It seems like you didn't read the thread. DT posted WORSE combine agility and quickness numbers than Blair.

There is a reason he was available at 58, and it isn't because every GM missed once, and some twice on a legit American college prospect. He's as immobile as a rock out there.

The guy did fine in the summer league against guys that are currently playing in the NBA. Most here aren't talking about him being a star player, but just a role player to give spot up minutes and hit the open 15ft to 25ft jumpshot.

The video below is pretty much what you saw all Summer League. His jab step back jumper reminded me alot of Paul Pierce. Funny how you mention he was drafted at 58 and pretty much every analyst labeled Thomas as steal of the draft after his summer league performance.

spot on. most are thinking of a 10 minute guy 15 at the most. can come in and give kawhi a breather every so often. While being a threat to score from anywhere on the court.

I saw Thomas live in Friday vs. Budivelnik Kiev. 11 points in 16 minutes from the bench. He played as PF, but he don't looks like PF rather more like big SF, and during shootaround he was shooting a lot of threes. In game he made 1/5 3's. Coach did not trust a lot to Thomas. After 2 travel violation in a row Thomas went to the bench immediately.
Finish on the rim was nice with confidence.

I'm not very impressed with his game, tbh. I saw some games from Summer League, he looks great those games. But now I'm not sure he's ready for NBA

Must win game against Fenerbahce coming up in a few minutes if Nanterre wants to qualify for the Top 16 in the Euroleague. Should be a good game, we might see Thomas matched up with Linas Kleiza for a bit.

Thomas is struggling lately. He might not play a lot today.

So far Thomas has launched a ton of 3s. He already has 5 attempts and 2 makes in 9 minutes of play. Leads the team in scoring with 8 points at the half.

Solid 3rd quarter for him. He finally got some looks at the rim and scored all of his 6 points this quarter in the paint. Too bad Nanteree can't get any stops and the guards keep chucking pull up 3s.

Nanterre logically lost against a better team. Thomas had a good game offensively but I'm still amazed by his concrete feet. With as little lateral mobility combined with his limited size, I really don't know how he can make it in the NBA.
