What a crock of tbh. I can do the same for Kobe:

Kobe is a terrible player to play alongside, no that plays ball wants to play with a ball hog. He gets all the glory in wins and no blame in losses. And incredible media manipulator that puts on a fake persona during interviews. Ousted Shaq and PJax. Sabotaged an NBA Finals and a Game 7 for selfish reasons. Killed the Lakers cap situation (youd be better without him, unless at a discount). Yet you worship him?
Yeah, he permitted a contrite Phil Jackson to come back. He beat Gasol & Odom mercilessly and made them champions. He permitted a contrite Artest to come to LA, then double crossed mine enemies and passed to him. He hunted Daddy down, ran him to ground and ended his NBA career on the side of 5-4.

    Yeah, I worship Kobe Bryant.

    They won't face it, Killa.

& frankly you cannot equate '84 to 6.
We didn't deserve '84. We got what we deserved.
They deserved 5. And got what they deserved.

, I've never gotten over '84. I think about that a lot more than I think of the 16. But, we had a savior in Magic Johnson. He had a strong influence in the debacles of '84. We'd nearly got killed by Dallas earlier because of his screwin' around. But, all that made Magic into exactly what we needed. And we've never looked back, well we peeked after '08, but, Kobe brought us thru that tumult and we've never looked back since.
Of course not much in recent memory is as bad as "6" ...
But like you 1984 ... I never forgot it. you are right it provided Magic the fuel to light the fire that carried us in 1985 and 1987-1988 ...
But it doesnt change the fact we were up 2-1 and up in Game 3 IIRC and pissed the bed at home. We made mistakes like the Worthy pass ... and some Magic turnovers that a championship team should NOT make. Much like last year's Spurs we had a great coach, a HOF star good supporting stars but we still lost.

Just like great players truly great fans remember the losses more than the great wins, it's like you almost take some of the victories for granted to a degree as great as they are ... of course I remember the chmapgane shower in my avvy or MWP's presser in 2010 ... but the losses, thr Finals ones ... they leave a scar ...

Nope. Read my other thread I would trade him too if teh price is right. Fact is he is a lifetime Laker. Howard is a rental.
I have no issue with you hating Kobe.
You should have no issue with me liking Kobe or hating Dwight ...

BTW, worship is too strong a word... only Magic in my kiddie days comes even close to getting that kind of fandom from me ...

    MWP's presser in 2010
Yep, the Artest press conference was a seminal moment. And what made it such was the fact he'd not briefed Media about it. The mother ers couldn't hijack it and make it into something that it wasn't. Maybe it was calculated that way and maybe his confession was a spur of the moment decision. Payton & his brother and their impromtu presser is comparable.

    Come on DMC ...
All praise to the Heat and to Lebron.
    But seriously?

AAA security had the tape set up to control the crowd ...
NBATV let a Spurs championship SI commercial slip through the cracks ...
Twitter was calling Lebron a choker ...

    then ...
bang. Just like that the narrative changed.
Some stats heads did the win probablilty with the cir stances in the Spurs favor and so much had to "break bad" for yall to lose that game.
Missed FT's, multiple offensive rebounds, and a incredible 3 after Lebron's 3 were ALL needed just to get that game in to overtime.

if you notice I hardly make much fun of "6" because I KNOW that pain ... but when you pricks try to act like letting swept in the 1st round is akin to THAT pain I just laugh as you try to lie to yourselves.
Were the Spurs FAR more successful than the Lakers absolutely, and for less cash. But does "6" hurt more than our ty season?! Absolutely.
So AAA Security thought it was over, or at least planned for it to be over. That's common. Dallas had a parade route planned. Both teams had championship apparel ready to go (some of that now in Africa most likely). None of that has anything to do with the game. Since when has media decided a game? They've called the wrong President.

It's like a "bad beat" in poker. Truth be known you never won, you just didn't know it until the river. The Spurs never had that game. In fact, they had 2 shots to win one game and couldn't. Spurs up was losing at home. They already took HCA from the defending champs, then they give it back. Why? Because they relied on jumpshooting role players. That's what got them there though, that and a timely injury to Russell Westbrook.

Spin it how you like, however you want to play it. The Spurs had nothing to lose and everything to gain. They weren't supposed to be there. They died 5 years ago.

No, what bugs me he wanted to milk us for every penny ... even Kobe's greedy ass took a minor cut to stay ...he did not. And I did not want him at a max salary anyway ...
Kobe has skins on the wall blood sweat and tears for helping us get to 16 ...Howard? No so much ... I love PJ And Im "cool" with shaq. he is nowhere near my favorite Lakers but still a great player.

BTW wgaf why I dont like Howard who cares? call me salty, bitter my dislike of Howard is akin to your dislike of chuckers ...
LOL Kobe took a cut to stay. That's like congress pushing forth a bill to raise their salaries by 50% and eventually making it 40% and saying they took a pay cut. You let Howard slip right through your hands. You had him, he was right there. You had the best center in the league and you let him go.

    See what I mean?

    See what I mean?
    A couple things:
    1. Best center by "default"
    2. A cut is a cut however you look at it. You make 40,000 and a cut to 35,0000 still sucks ..it's like the Eddie Murphy skit about Johnny Carson and no pre-nup ... Whether you talking about half of $500 million or half of $5.00 you gona be mad ...
    3. None of this changes the bottom line. You can spin that existential bull all day long. That championship was as done as it could be. Even the Mavs choke which many on here took joy in was not as "done" as this one was. It's never over till the fat lady sings, but dat had gargled, had cleared her pipes and was warming up when "bang" happened.

i am glad you are at peace with it ...you may very well be a better man than me in this regard ... since i still lament 1984 ... but i know it hurt like a SOB ... no use to hide it. I dont hide my bitterness towrds Dwight. not that he left but just the way it went down ... the details from the meeting that leaked coming off the heels of his dishonesty with SVG when he denied asking for SVG to be fired then he wants Mike D gone who is HE to demand any coach to be fired when he needs as much coaching as possible? I felt he doesnt even deserve to be a Laker and now I root for him to fail. not to get hurt but to choke every chance he gets.
