some people are gonna be embarrassed reading back on this
For me it's premature to say people are gonna be embarrassed by posts like these, if Manu is injured or get gassed for the pos they won't be wrong
Manu is playing phenomenal, but it's really early. He played great at the beginning of last year too and then suffered the injuries. He never regained his form physically or mentally and the result was rough. But as of this moment, he's playing great. For 7M a year, you hope he can last and sustain his high level of play into the playoffs.
Don't get me wrong Manu is playing amazing so far he is having a great first half, and I'm delighted to have Manu back with the spurs obviously but for me contract was too much, still the case. Hope I will eat a crow during the POs.
Dpg said it better than me
I think it's more than proved that Manu wasn't done, tbh.
Again last year Manu started well too, Manu not done as a full RS and POs player still need to be seen. But yes his start of the season is well above my expectations.
How? With Manu, injuries play a huge role in his ability to play effectively. He's broken down before and the risk is still great with him, even this year.
I agree it's proved he's not done in the sense that if he's healthy he is still able to produce (albeit in very limited managed minutes), but overall it's still early.
How many points last night? Lol
he averages more points per game than Kawhi while playing less minutes and taking less shots per game
The difference is that Pop puts Manu in situations where he'll score points efficiently..Kawhi is forced to take Forced shots..Haven't you been watching? Tony loves to pass the ball to kawhi when there is hardly any seconds left in the clock.
Pop isn't the one driving the ship when Manu has the ball. I dont think anybody quite knows what Manu will do when he has the ball except Manu and whoever he passes it to about a fraction of a second before he does.
11 with 12 assists. "hez dun doe" - lol
Against the second string.
He never looked as good last year as he has this year. He underwent as has been do ented rigorous, more so than in the past, training. Program to regain strength and to build up his body. He's thicker and has better at end of games this year as compared to last year as well. No question he has to stay healthy, but IMO, he didn't look close to as good last year at any point, than he does now.
All Parker and pop's fault he's missed those open corner threes. Got it.
Also with the second string
I guess people don't understand the importance of getting your guys into rythem...
I haven't checked the per-minute numbers last year pre-injury vs this year so far, but maybe you're right. However, I seem to remember him playing pretty damn well pre-injury last year.
That and unicorns exist I suppose. Nothing to do with rythum though.
IMO, eye test, he looks far better. His leaping ability is back to about 2007 levels. His passing is better. His stamina late in games. Their guard rotation is RH best it's ever been. It'll show when things settle down in April.
Numbers wise, couldn't tell you. Eye test wise? Not close, again, jmo.
Oh, but he is worthy of being a starter, right?
Eyeroll.
