There is zero chance we don't get an all-star. Spurs are too well-respected around the league. At least one of Duncan/Parker/Ginobili/Leonard will get in as a reserve.
Manu or Tim deserve it, but Tony probably gets in. Lillard will be this season's all-star snub like Curry last year.

Not as bad as people make it seem. As I mentioned earlier, he (DeAndre Jordan, too) has improved under Rivers. Is he a great defender? No. Does he get abused nightly by other PFs and constantly hurt his team's defense? No. As I said, he's an average defender. The Clippers' defense gives up about 1.1 points more per 100 possessions when he's off the court compared to when he's on...but part of that has to do with their frontcourt depth being horrible rather than Griffin being good defensively.
Good points, Griffin really has improved this season. I just don't see him as someone who can lead a team to a Finals.

Not that his leadership has anything to do with his ASG votes.

Is Pop eligible to coach this year? How do they usually pick the coach? Best record?

I completely agree with you on that front. I'm not trying to crusade for Griffin being considered a top 5 player in the league or anything. I don't think he could be the best player on a Finals either. Just saying that the whole "he sucks. all he can do is dunk" thing is completely wrong. He's an all-star caliber player who has a noticeably positive impact on his team. That's all I'm saying. Him making the all-star game is certainly not a crime...especially with how he's been playing this year.

No. Since he coached last year, he can't coach two years in a row. The team with the next best record gets picked so in this case, Brooks or Stotts.

It's a game for the fans, they have the right to vote for whoever they want to see in the game, tbh..

All-Star game is not a meaningful accomplishment, anyways..

Yeah, well tbh that was the case for some time but I've watched him a couple of times this year and his game has really improved. Especially his jumpers.

It's going to be difficult for Duncan to make the team, but winning is heavily weighted by the coaches, so the Spurs should get at least 2 guys on the team IMO..Parker is a lock, considering Paul and Westbrook won't play..

    Howard
    Griffin
    Durant
    Bryant
    Curry

Locks: Harden, Lillard, Parker, Aldridge, Love

Duncan's compe ion would be Anthony Davis, Cousins(doubt they put him in), David Lee and Dirk..it doesn't seem like Nowitzki has enough hype this year to make it, and I don't think Lee does either..

They could also add either one of Bledsoe/Dragic as a guard reserve, too..

One of Dragic or Bledsoe will get in for sure since Phoenix has a winning record.

The last spot will be between Duncan and Dirk, IMO. I'm actually hoping Manu or Duncan is the first choice over Tony, but Tony will get in easily. No way does Kawhi deserve to make the all-star team.

Bledsoe is out indefinitely. He needs surgery on his right knee. I could see Dragic getting the nod though.

So all star votes are for who FANS want to see.

Not surprising or strange at all.

The baseball all star game is the only relevant contest.

Interesting fact. Duncan is tied in second with Kobe and KG for the all-time record for most all-star games played.

One thing. If Love catches Griffin and gets voted in as a starter, do the coaches even pick Blake?

In that scenario I think Tim and Tony both get in.

    Kobe/Curry/Love/KD/DHo

Reserves:Aldridge, Timmy, Lillard, Dirk, Harden,Davis, Parker

On the cusp: Dragic, Griffin, Batum, Cousins,Monta Ellis.Any of these could be an injury replacement for Mamba, and should be.

Yes it is, Lynn being anywhere near the game is as well. Shows you what the game is about.

Griffin has been solid lately and has stepped up in place of Paul. He'll get in easily.

Thats a cryin shame that Dirk is #10 and Kevin LOLve 4. I'd take Dirk over Timmy this year easy and Timmy 10 spots over LOLve.

I though so to but advanced stats don't really show it. He has a 101 defensive rating (2nd on the Clippers) has logged the 2nd most minutes on the team and they are 8th in defensive rating.

Which is is another nail in the coffin of your advanced stats. The same ones that you use to claim Manu's eight turnovers.....eight......EIGHT TURNOVERS....in Game Six "didn't really hurt us."

Stone cold locks: Griffin, Durant, Howard, Bryant, Curry, Paul, Harden, Love, Aldridge, Parker

    Virtual lock: Lillard

    Borderline: Nowitzki, Davis, Duncan

Whether Duncan get's in or not probably largely hinges on whether Bryant plays. If he doesn't, Duncan probably edges out Davis (their record and the fact that he's not established to begin with, hurt his cause). If he does, Nowitzki probably edges him for the final spot.
