Come on man. Tony was astounding last year. Don't forget he injured his hammy last year in the Finals. That would affect any player to a great degree.
If his hammy was bothering him why did he take 23 shots in game 6? He kept missing and missing when he should have been passing to Duncan or Leonard.

How many PGs are in the perfect situation(smart coach, good big, deep bench) like Tony is in? We probably beat the Heat last year if we had Paul playing in Parker's place. Curry too.

Even as a 2nd option, Tony was terrible. Remember 2004 when he went 7-23 against the Lakers in the pivotal game 5? He's been disappointing Spurs fans for a long time.
Lol, Parker wasn't our biggest flaw last year, dude was getting covered by LeBron and rushed on PnR, despite that we had the lead in the closeout game until Pop decided to roll with scrub unit for 7 minutes into the game. Then we couldn't hit FT's and turned the ball over.. We need a 2nd scorer which we don't have.

Why does that matter? The system doesn't change if you tweak a hammy. You also answered your own question in a way. His hammy was certainly bothering him based on how poorly he shot.

I never said Parker was our biggest flaw. Ginobili was worse, obviously. But, for some reason, everybody seems to find excuses for TP when he's been choking in the playoffs for a long time.

He played very well last year in the playoffs up until he injured his hamstring. It's not an "excuse", it's a reason. Thinking that we could just plug in another elite PG for Tony and automatically win a championship is just laughable.

Chris Paul would be looking to lob the ball to who? The dude is not a 1st scoring option and the Spurs need a scoring PG in this "system"

Who else would have shot the ball? Manu? Neal? Green?

    We don't have a 2nd scorer

This. Also he had LeBron on him, Kawhi was the hot hand but he still insisted on hero balling us out of the game.

Our offense is run through our PG and it relies on him to take quite a few shots. I'm sure you watched it, Parker (even with the hurt hammy) was the only one who could create his own shot in the Finals. Can't create a new gameplan on the fly in the Finals.

He hit a HUGE 3 in LeBron's face that should've been the knockout blow but Manu missed a free throw, kawhi missed a free throw and we lost a rebound with TD on the bench.

Paul averaged 22 ppg in the playoffs last year. Not to mention, he's a career 20 ppg scorer in the post-season.

This has been Tony's team for a while though... it's clear we'll need a better version of Tony to go anywhere...

Kobe fan in 2010: Has Lebron ever won a championship?

Sometimes the inferior player has better talent/coaching.

Easy to average those numbers during 1 playoff series each year. Parker had similar numbers last season in the playoffs despite teams running there best at him

Well thankfully it isn't March/April yet. I would hate to see the Spurs peak in January and February only to falter towards the playoffs.

That being said, I would be very disappointed and believe in the team less if they can't acquire another perimeter defender. They desperately need one cause all the elite teams in the NBA (minus Indiana) are all perimeter oriented, athletic teams. The Spurs can't hang with that as currently constructed.

Parker and Pop take too much heat on this site. Spurs are great team. Duncan is a all time great big. Pop a genius Manu a great compe or truly one of the best. But Spurs best players are all past their prime. Except Parker and KL . Thought a Finals rematch was inevitable but the losses to elite teams is worrisome.

Tony's been like this his whole career. He's a mid-volume scorer that can't maintain his efficiency in the post-season. His chokejobs date back all the way to 2004. Spurs will never win a championship with TP as our first option.

Still early to count the Spurs out, but you're right. To get to the Finals, the Spurs are going to have to challenge teamas they are currently struggling against. I hope we pull off a trade of some kind. Also need to get healthy, which is always our issue.

Really? I thought that none of the two teams could come again this year, but miami reloaded, and has a better chance that the Spurs
