True and I hope so too, but like I posted earlier, Skills don't usually leave a good player their body goes first. I know you are being optimistic but Manu just wont be able to be that player anymore without another injury.
I'm not optimistic. At this point, I have no expectations. Unfortunately, once stuff like this becomes chronic, it's very hard to deal with.

He just doesn't have that much left. He has small stretches, but he was babied minutes wise & still broke down. You literally can't manage his minutes any more and he still could not sustain. Let's hope with even more ample time to recover he can contribute every once in a while in limited minutes. It's a huge blow to the Spurs that he can't sustain playing only 23 MPG against bench compe ion.

I'm not knocking him - Spurs need him to play at the level he started with especially if he can only go 20 MPG.

If SPURS play all D league players for the remaining games, SPURS could still end up getting a pick at 15-20?
SPURS should consider trading some players while their values are still high like Tiago and KL

It doesn't help that the coach of the team still runs a huge portion of the offense through old Manu rather than expanding the role of his young, promising player that just had a great playoffs run in 2013..

he's 36 man. a 36 year old getting injured is a lot different than a player in his 20s. i know this cuz i'm injured right now. so i cant even criticize him for that

    I agree!

As to the other hater (skull 1), I'm glad to be a homer! I love this team been with them through the heartbreaking losses & wins but you are nothing but a hater & definitely not a true fan! I'm sick of your posts hating Manu! We'll asshole we wouldn't have 3 of those championships if we didn't have Manu! So you!
Without Manu we would've lost '05 and won '13 with the possibility of having a shot at '06 (i.e. making it to the finals), so at best it's a wash.

This is exactly why he WASN'T worth 7 million. It was inevitable that he'd miss lots of time with an injury. Injury prone players don't magically become healthy at age 36.

I don't think we would have made it out of the West without him in 2007. I doubt we beat Phoenix. We probably would have would either way in 2003.

The ignorant, arrogant, stubborn front office got exactly what they deserved (I'm not speaking specifically about this injury, but of not having a single player capable of credible playing SF for a few weeks) and you know what? So did the big three, for allowing them to be those things and not demanding that they do their job.

This team was/is embarrassingly thin at SF and the forward spots in general and despite ample flexibility, they refused to address it, despite the fact that the best players on the three contenders are all over sized, freakishly athletic SF's/combo forwards. Complete and utter negligence.

Manu was a main reason we got back in the game and had that lead though late in game 7 vs the Mavs, so take him off the team and what? I know he fouled and it was a bonehead play, but he played great in that second half.

You give him that because of what he can bring and you know you will get everything he has left.....Don't forget he gave us
a discount when Denver and The Suns both were offering a lot more than we could give at that time... Get use to it, he
will be a Spur till he decides to retire.
