No way in we catch the Thunder for home court now, Spurs are likely done in the 2nd but if by some miracle we get to the WCF then forget about it. OKC in a 4 or 5.
Durant gone up about 15 gears. He not the player the West has seen b4. He's bossing teams at will, when and how he wants. He shooting over, dunking over and jumping over lock down defenders. Only way we could beat them is an injury free fit team playing out of our skin.
The one thing I'm seeing from them is that they've peaked. They're playing peaked ball right now and we all know that it's really who catches fire just right before the playoffs. I can't say they won't be successful but OKC can't sustain this level forever, it's a game of percentages.
Can't say spurs will fair any better but they are bound to him some kind of stride when we get healthy. If it will be enough who knows but it won't be nearly as impossible as some of these losses has made it out to be.
Keep laughing. Keep doubting. I'll find you on here when the Spurs win it all & serve you up some crow.
Kevin Durant and the Thunder can't and won't keep up this pace. It's the law of averages and it's inevitable. You don't want to play your best now. Spurs will be rounding in to shape just in time.
OKC seems to be playing playoff ball now, Durant and Ibaka are killer with that screen and roll etc.. Westbrook comes back and screws up the flow but also, they're peaking too soon.. They'll come back down to average out the season and probably fade late in the playoffs.
I don't understand why you think Durant cant keep this going. Remember 03 Duncan? 11 Dirk? A player can certainly carry a team to a le with a dominant run. I just really don't know why you think Durant can't sustain this play. OKC would mop the floor with Spurs in the playoffs. Where in the world do you get that the Spurs can beat OKC?
I am trying to be positive now too! I do not agree fully with this though. I HOPE TO GOD but honestly reality tells me NO. I hope I am wrong.
Several things can happen.. not saying that this will happen but Russell Westbrook accounts for an average of 18 shots per game and changes the way the Thunder move and share the ball. Durant despite his great stats this year is pretty much on par with what he's done for the past 3 seasons, he's played a ton of minutes which even at 25 can fatigue you if they sustain this kind of play especially this far away from the PO's..
the thunder do not need to keep up this pace to beat the Spurs, they have athleticism to dominate the boards and even on a normal day shot beat the Spurs at their game volume, for durant the physical advantage he has makes even he's on a normal day, it protrudes, the worst part is that these days are becoming increasingly rare, not to mention that this soft league today, he goes to the free throw line as often as he wants with the refs in his balls
truth firebombing Dresden style imo (300k civilians evaporated)
It's funny how homers will call on this "faith" or this "belief" as some kind of invisible magic powder that all of a sudden fix all the problems with our team and muck up the opponent team
the truth is as of right now the Spurs are a 2nd round fodder and that's the reality and those are the facts. No amount of belief or faith () will change this. The truth is unless there is a knee explosion to WB, Durant, Elian Gonzales or even C3P0rings, the spurs are GOING NOWHERE.
No one thought the Spurs were capable last year either. Too early to judge.
^ more like Westbrook's knee was still intact...
Where you at RobDiaz??
