There does exist such a prevalent belief that each ring of the Olympic symbol represents a continent, and that's enough of a reason for those Russian s to play such an unfunny joke imho. No one said their skin was so yellow as Goddess's blonde hair (it's a horrible comparison for Goddess of course, but I can't think of anything else at the moment except Goddess, sorry Goddess ). Here color is just a relative identification imho, they're yellow compared to other races so they're called yellows. Similarly, America got the red ring because native americans (American Indians) have "red" skin, but sure it doesn't mean their skin is as red as their blood. they're only called so in contrast to other races, imho.
