I always use MalwareBytes to clean an infected machine, but what do you guys use to prevent a virus? I have a Windows 7 box with Avira and a Windows 8 laptop with just Windows Defender.
I use the norton 360 which is free with my cable internet subscription.
I've never gotten such a bad virus that I needed heavy duty on my PC.
A combo of Malwarebytes and ccleaner always does the trick for me.
I also have TuneUp Utilities but rarely use it.
Microsoft Security Essentials, or one of these free ones is really all you need, unless you are downloading porn/torrents from some very questionable sources..I personally use AVG Free, and Avast. They both work fine for me, never had any issues.
microsoft essentials and comodo
My . Balmer-era Windows tbh.
There's a new sheriff in town
Bitdefender. Works great. Had to switch to it when PCTools got rid of Spyware Doctor.
Avast has worked fine for me.
I used McAfee for a long time because it took them three years to figure out they should have ended my 30-day free trial, but I've recently switched to the free version of Ad-Aware. I'm happy with it so far, but I haven't really interacted with it much other than scheduling regular scans.
AVG
Has never failed me despite all the granny vs tranny porn
i run scans with malwarebytes, superantispyware, and windows security essentials every few months, but I have nothing actively protecting my comp.
