Exactly. He's not much different than what they already have. Shumpert is one of the most overrated players in the league.
Lol Iman for a 1st rounder from a team with the best record in the league (thus being the last first round pick). This goes to show the Spurs aren't serious about finding pieces. This is a huge pick-up for OKC and if the Spurs don't make a deal by today... I think our LOB trophy chances will easily be sliced in half (which wasn't great to begin with)
Exactly. He's not much different than what they already have. Shumpert is one of the most overrated players in the league.
OKC's first rounder is not going to be very good. Draft is overrated this year IMO and they want to win now. Getting a guy like Shump now, even with his flaws, is very likely much better than they could get in this year's draft.
Standing pat was expected, but can't say I'm not disappointed especially with the relatively low asking price that teams have been asking for tbh.
I wouldn't have given up a 1st for Shump but OKC is obviously thinking of a Finals matchup with Miami with that move IMO.
Shumpert is vastly overrated on D. The problems he would represent are his athleticism and ability to get hot in a hurry. However, playing him over Lamb would be a downgrade unless Lamb regresses.
Shoots well under 40% and has PER under 10. He's vastly overrated.
OKC will play a lot with Durant at PF. Spurs aren't really well armed to counter it.
here we go, oh wait.....
David Pick @IAmDPick
Croatian coach Neven Spahija, who has close ties with Spurs, tells me he's headed to San Antonio to spend time with the team.
Nice move for okc, better than nothing
Shumpert takes time away from Derek Fisher. I see that as a plus for Thunder. Big question is can we get another three/four that can help us match up when Durrant moves to the 4 spot. That's what we need.
Indeed. 82games.com says that the opponent PER when Shump plays at SG is 18.0 (against his 10.0) and at SF is 14.7 against his 11.1 and he has played 90% of his time at SG.
Basketball reasons...and he know the system.
Good to see S.A. making a little noise before the trade deadline.
I assume you read the word Spurs (like I did)...but nothing...
Waiting to see Ayres and Bonner extended
My guess too. Can't wait to hear RCs press conference about it all.
He has coached Tiago and Nando in Europe.
A move that will probably gonna be underrated, tbh
Lakers are gonna steal my Jimmer!![]()
That will probably be the only tweet involving SA for the rest of the deadline.![]()
Shump is on a terrible team. Keep in mind, it's easy to sour on players once they slump or are in a bad situation. I am not saying he's great - I am simply saying he's about as good as you could hope for with their pick anyways and it adds a live body today who's young and shown some potential. Doesn't hurt them IMO and adds potential. Not a bad thing from a basketball perspective. Now, if you want to talk financial, different story maybe.
you gotta give huge props to Matty at this point. Surviving 8 seasons by being a one trick pony on one of the best franchises in sports is just insane tbh. A D-league level defender who's one skill disappears time and time again.

This may be the worst trade deadline ever. Why not trade some bench scrubs/Spurs 1st for 76's 2nd and Turner? To me that would be better than getting a 2nd rounder from a playoff team for him.
Bruno, can you make this thread auto-update for the remaining?
Exactly, and it doesnt affect the salary cap situation. Pioneers!!!
