Of course Shaq gets the blame. No one wants to put 05 on Kobe with Shaq immediately ringing his first year in Miami. They should have had 4-5 rings together.
He didn't immediately ring in Miami, you jaundiced asswipe. Spurs won in '05. His fatass played on 5 different teams jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon after The Eviction! Just coattailing his ass off trying his damnedest to catch/pass Kobe. But in the end, it's Kobe-5, Snaq-4PERID. Neal with it son.

Except he didn't win his first year in Miami.
Yup, lost Game 7 of the ECF at home due to a Rasheed Wallace putback.

Thats how much he s on Kobe.

In hindsight Shaq should've taken a back seat and let Kobe do his thing but more than the money, it was pride that was kicking in. In the end he ended up looking like a bitter old joker who overstayed his visit in the NBA.

I'm one of few Laker fans thats still a huge Shaq fan tbh
His clownish ways while great with kinds and in his community service endeavors ultimately undermined Shaq. As great as he loved by this board and even some Lakers fans that despise Kobe for running him off. Shaq as dominant as he was is a under achiever. He should of won at LEAST 5 rings no matter what and had the physical tools to end the GOAT center debate and maybe even GOAT player one.

Shaq was like a more dominant David Robinson. Great player truly a one of a kind special athlete. But to me both should be judged as great centers who should of been greater. Who in the NB has a greater size/speed ratio than Shaq? Lebron? Maybe?! And Speaking of speed David was like a taller just as powerful Lebron running the lanes. Sure O'neal is greater than Robinson but both guys never got the most of their gifts and make no mistake SHaq & David are the two most gifted centers in NBA history.

Both should of been in GOAT convo with MJ neither are ....

You're not the greatest of all time when your game has so many flaws: poor ft & jump shooter, avg low post game, avg defender, bad work ethic.

Shaq had all the tools to change most of that. Did not care about the jump-shooting though. a guy as big and dominant as Shaq should not take many jumpers.

Even though Hakeem and Tim Duncan were not as big as Shaq, they were just as dominant. You've got to have the complete game for GOAT consideration and Tim & Dream are nowhere near GOAT status. Shaq may have underachieved but he was never going to be the GOAT tbh.

Again because you are talking about two players who used their gifts and maximized it. If Shaq maximized his he absolutely would of been the GOAT big of his generation. the fact that you can make a case for Tim and Hakeem as great as they are tell you how much Shaq under-achieved. BEfore shaq Go "heavier" even before he got fat ... Shaq was lean but twice as strong as either Tim or Hakeem. HE was not as quick as Hakeem but quicker than duncan who was the GOAT PF and a much more explosive leaper than either guy. IF shaq cared more for both end of the cours he could of been the most dominant "low block" center (not as versatile as Tim or Hakeem but more dominant) as well as the greatest rebounding center of his area. Doubt he would of ever been as great a shot blocker or PNR defender as Hakeem or paint anchor as Duncan but he absolutely could of patrolled the middle much better than he did. He had length, size and great hops.

During the 3 peat Shaq averaged in the playoffs:

30 points 15.4 boards 3 assists and about 2.5 blocks for the first two and those numbers dipped a bit as Kobe jumped from #2 to 1B ...

Those numbers factor in foul trouble and neither Hakeem or Tim playing with as good as Kobe. Guy was a beast. Give him duncan's work ethic or Kobe's will he is definitely in GOAT convo ...

Duncan surpassed Shaq a year ago and I believe if he had an elite SG or a PG as his sidekick earlier, the Lakers wouldn't have that 3,peat. Unlike Shaq, Duncan never had a problem sharing the ball with a SG.

Lew Alcinder has the GOAT big status locked and Shaq just doesn't have the hardware tbh.

What's Tim's FGA in comparison to Shaq in the early to mid 2000's?

I think we are talking different things. I have said on here CONSISTENTLY that Duncan>Shaq.
Why do you keep bringing that up? Many laker fans and even some Spur fans on here disagree ... I do not.
I am just saying IF SHAQ was focused and more driven he would of made this a short debate because despite being lazy and unfocused at times he still is a top 5 center all-time.
So imagine what he would of done with more drive?

Not sure what part of that I did not make clear.

Shaq is probably the most insecure superstar the league has ever seen. Just look at the way he started crying when Dwert stole his "Superman" shtick.

But, that wasn't right, Bud. And Media sheepherding Howard as he did it was reprehensible. That belonged to Daddy.

Shaq got jealous of God's talent and didn't have the drive or work ethic that God had. Shaq felt insecure in God's presence and that is why he didn't stupid in the locker room. Hence this is why he forced himself out of LA.

Actually Howard turned out to be even more of a whiner after all was said and done. I still like Shaq quite a bit. Got a ball he signed for me his rookie season in Orlando
