I am unsure about the Giants pick. I didn't really like a WR with a 12th pick. Would have preferred Donald at DT, tbh.

Yeah, I just didn't see the point in drafting a receiver other than Watkins or Evans in the first round. There's so much depth in Day Two. I don't know how much better Beckman is than Matthews, Moncrief and Landry. Donald seems like a rare talent. Gotta trust the Giants' brass, though. Few teams draft better.

maybe Houston will still pull the trigger on a Mallett deal instead of taking a QB at #33

At 34, it would be hard for the skins to up here but I wouldn't be surprised. With that late run of safeties, there are a ton of solid lineman as well as defensive line. Even marquise lee, amaro, moncrief, Matthews is available if they want another pass catcher.

If I'm the skins I either draft o line or trade down later in the round and get an extra pick in rounds 3-5. Tons of talent in this draft

Louis Nix should be an automatic pick for you guys, imo. and yeah it, let the texans trade for cousins, that works too

Great pick by Baltimore tbh...Mosley is a beast. Investing in your front 7 even when it's not a need is usually a recipe for success. Pittsburgh, Seattle, SF and NYG have proven this as well.

when you mocked the site i posted that only had 8 games, the USC game was one of them. go take a look.
No USC had more talent in the trenches. They also had more talent everywhere else. The little bubble screens (and quick passing game in general) that Carr feasted on during conference play wasnt there against USC. I like him...he has a solid arm and seems like he has a good head on his shoulders, just not crazy about him. He's less ready than the three first round QBs imo.

i agree. all along i've been saying that Carr needs to sit out a year, which is why Oakland makes the most sense since we have Schaub for the time being. I think Carr is the best passer of the bunch (arm strength, accuracy, anticipation), but he's not ready to step in day 1. He needs to improve his footwork and get caught up and learn the offense. Keep in mind that the offense Carr played in this year (the spread game based on short passes) isn't what he played throughout his career if Fresno. They actually ran a more pro style offense last year.

Also, the short screen passing game wasn't their entire playbook. Their offensive line was terrible, so those short screens were basically their version of running plays. They still had their fair share of intermediate-deep passing. I think Bridgewater is a guy that will be ready to step in day 1, but I think he's limited skill wise. Manziel is another guy that I think might as well come in day 1. Like Vince Young I feel like with Johnny, he is what he is. You don't draft Johnny with the intention of changing/molding him.

from all the big name QB's, I actually like Bortles the least (sorry Holden ), since like Carr, I don't think he's ready to step in and assume a starting gig, but I also think his arm is limited, so the upside isn't there for a guy thats going to need time. He does have some Ben like characteristics, but I'm curious to see how he turns out.
i hope the texans dont take Carr
you're telling me. It would be really tough to sell another Carr to their fans, and hopefully they end up going after Mallet/Cousins or look to take Garoppolo. If they do take Carr, I think Marquise Lee would be available to us (or D'Avante Adams) at #36

I know I wanted JFF before the draft but now that they have him I've got cold feet.

FWIW, the Browns also drafted Brady Quinn and Weeden with the 22nd pick. So what could go wrong?

I'm just hoping Hoyer steps up and seizes the job and keeps this kid on the bench as long as possible, tbh.

Texans need to draft a stud NT. A Nix-Clowney-Watt frontline sounds nasty.

indeed. I don't know the player in itself, but according to what i've read, the lb is the weakest position in the draft this year and there is little to no depth, so they took more value.

I think ILB is a little different than the other positions. They don't come off the field, so having starting-caliber depth isn't all that important. Also concerning to me is that he is pretty much a physical clone of Arthur Brown, the player the Ravens traded up for in the second round last year. He, Brown and Smith are both traditional 3-4 mikes. So with McClain's departure (and McClain's retirement), the only traditional will left on the team is Josh Bynes. Even if they go with a non-traditional front, Smith is likely to get the will spot. With him signing a four-year deal, it's going to be very possible that a first- or second-round pick gets completely left out of the defensive rotation.

Scary. A big reason I hope Hageman falls to the Ravens. Hageman/Ngata/Canty with Williams, Lewis-Moore and Tyson rotating in could be scary.

I want nix bad tbh. Would free up orakpo kerrigan and hatcher. Would move co field back to his natural de position instead of being an undersized NT. Nix is a solid run stopper too

, so many available players at 34...
