Spurs don't draft athletic guys w avg iqs. McDaniel is an excellent athlete, but he is 6'6" and 200 lbs and is not a great shooter.

Just know in the future that the Spurs avoid avg iq guys in FA and draft. That why you saw them beat 3 teams more athletic than them this playoffs w 11 of 12 victories being blowouts.

I think the only team that was far and away more athletic was the Thunder with Ibaka. You are also forgetting that this core has played together for over a decade. It's not IQ that sets them apart, its familiarity and experience.

As a basketball fan I wanted McDaniels. I think he's the better prospect, has the higher ceiling, and is ready to contribute now. Only time will tell.

Diaw is smooth like butter when he wants to be and very uhm...I guess nifty is the word. When Boris is able to actually decide what he wants to do, he may not be fast about it, but he is on time. I look at Kyle and see slow feet with a slow release.

He's a Spur so I'm automatically rooting for him, but I am not excited.
