I know this is a troll, but be careful. Kool has spent a lifetime being the dumbest person in any room he enters. Posts like this, even in jest, could go a long ways toward you challenging him for his le.

I have a lot of respect for Kool so being compared to him is an honor. My nickname for him is Jesus Kool since he's the Jesus Christ of the Koballah religion.

Dude, Bob Bass landed Frank Brickowski for Thompson, who was ing horrible in his stint in San Antonio. I'm still mad as Brickowski got traded for that fat piece of Pressey a few years later, cause Brick was an excellent backup to DRob.
Baseline I respect you cuz you go way back and there are not many of us that do. Point is....Bass made several trades that always seem to help the Lakers. In the Thompson trade, Brick did work out and was a great player, but Thompson really helped the Lakers to back to back les. Bass said Brick was a clubhouse lawyer and traded him for Paul Pressey who was 35 and hadn't played the prior year because of knee problems. Horrible, stupid trade. Then when Bass drafted and traded Kobe to the Lakers, it was like....WTF, is this guy on their payroll?

Bass did have 1 trade in which he ripped off the Lakers. The Glen Rice trade was a steal for Bass. Bass was able to trade a Rice who was old and injured for Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell. I believe if that trade doesn't go down the Lakers probably have 1 or 2 more les.

Indeed that was a horrible trade but Dr Buss forced it…Eldon had a reputation for being lazy & Dr. Buss wanted him gone after the Lakers acquired Shaq…Eddie Jones was a fan favorite, I do not understand why they gave him away…Phil Jackson was not fond of Rice & even made fun of his wife for medaling in coaching decisions ….

Eldon would have been a nice back up for Shaq & had the Lakers kept him, Shaq would have had needed rest on his 320 lb body...

I do believe that Eddie would have worked great in Phil Jackson's triangle system. He was an above average defensive player back then and he was a good slasher. His skill set was very similar to Scottie Pippen. The Lakers were always able to matchup well with the Spurs twin tower lineup by going with Shaq-Elden together. The Lakers won the majority of times with that line up against the Spurs. When that trade went down I was shocked and thought it was a pretty stupid trade at that time.

But, Jones played scared. He could not cut it.
