First of all, let me introduce myself by saying I am a Lin fan and I am glad that he got out of the poisonous Rockets organization and joins a great one in Lakers. I think the Lakers benefit in the following ways:
1. Lin is a top 5 PG when used properly and an all star in the making. This will relive Kobe of the pressure and double teams.
2. Lin is a top top IQ player who can run the team. Kobe can now play off the ball more and Lin is capable of being first option when Kobe sits or is shooting bad.
3. Lin and Kobe makes a great backcourt - best in NBA. Top 5 PG with a top 3 SG.
4. Lin can play the 2 and the 3 if need be. Esp the 2.
have a feeling Lin2Kobe and CrackerJax gonna get along very well

IMHO Lin is a top talent and can put up season averages of 25/9/4/2 on 48% from the field, 39% 3 point and 87% from free throw line'
That is definitely a top 5 PG
Only PG's who are better right now are Curry, WestBrook and CP3. Lin is on par with Rose athletically, and better than the likes of Rondo, Irving, Lowry, Conley etc

I don't hate the deal for the Lakers tbh. I think Lin has talent in the right system like he showed with the Knicks. He'd be a solid 6th man for a non-re ed coach that's not McFail.
He's vastly overpaid but he'll be a huge draw for the Lakers when Kirby gets hurt again next season. My dad being prime example as he's the biggest Lin homer i know tbh
