Dragging it out, I see...
For whatever it's worth, my cable guide shows that there's also a "To Be Announced" time block on NBATV on August 13, 2014 5-8 PM CT.
Dragging it out, I see...
The good news is that we should start getting some pieces of information about the schedule as it is finalized over the next few days -- the openers, the Christmas Day games, a few other tidbits.
By the way, if there's a week off at the All-Star Break, the Spurs RRT might be significantly shorter than its been since the move to the AT&T Center, since the trip usually straddles the break. It might turn two 3-5 game trips on either side of the break into a couple of 2-3 game trips on either side of the break.
Trying to look for rumors today, but not finding much.
This seems to be the best aggregation so far: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/s...,2690565.story
Spurs are apparently hosting Miami on Feb. 6 and playing the Heat on the road on March 31.
Several of the Christmas Day games seem set, too: Cleveland is apparently going to Miami for Christmas. The Clippers and Warriors are going to play again on Christmas night. Washington is reportedly playing the Knicks on Christmas as well. The Lakers will undoubtedly have a Christmas Day game, too; I heard on NBA Radio this morning that LAL is likely playing at Chicago (http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.c...christmas-day/). That would leave only one other Christmas Day game and a lot of possibilities.
The schedule is probably:
12:00 Knicks Wizards
2:30 Heat Cavaliers
5:00 Spurs ???? (Thunder I assume)
7:30 Bulls Lakers
10:30 Clippers Warriors
The Lakers will have the 2:30 spot, I think. The report in the Miami paper has the Heat/Cavs game on Christmas as a "night" game:
I think the Knicks will have that first game, the Lakers/Bulls will be the 2:30 game, the Heat/Cavs will be the late-afternoon/early evening game, and Clippers/Warriors will be the late game.
there are 5 games though.
No doubt. I'm just saying that my guess is that the only game we don't really have a rumor about is the game that is likely to be played in the early evening. That would seem the most likely place for a game involving the Spurs.
Frank Isola now saying that "It is believed that the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs will begin the season by hosting Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers."

Seems to be the Twittercensus.
This game is way too early. We should play vs a western team since we play them more times.
Agreed. Opening night is already a good ratings draw. They should save a big matchup like Cavs/Spurs for January when they need the ratings.
Just got an ESPN alert on my phone:
Spurs ring night tentatively scheduled for Oct. 28 at home against Mavericks -- sources
Stein has that Spurs v. Mavs report. Seems believable.
Yeah, it looks like "Ring Night" is October 28th against the Mavs. (See last paragraph of): http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11...ording-sources.
Does that mean we'd open on the road in Cleveland? Or is the 28th our opening night?
Stein seems to be saying that the Cavs won't open with the Spurs.
The league has recently started every full season since 1999-2000 on a Tuesday night, which would make the 28th the season opener.
Cheers. THanks for the clarification.![]()
28th would be opening night,I assume.
mavs gave spurs a run for the money in playoffs I could see them facing them
I'm hoping to make my way out to San Antonio this holiday season to catch a couple of Spurs games. Waiting to see what good matchups for them in December/January.
Remember no back to back games. lol
OHH Yes! You're right......Well, actually it would be my first time watching the Spurs play in person and in San Antonio. I would be just excited to be there and soak up that energy and support for the team, no matter if the big 3 are resting that night.
Wait, I take that back. I don't want to watch one of my first games in San Antonio and spend much of the time saying " ing Ayres". Excitement only goes so far.
The feels leaves right away and then you're stuck watching the bench play the whole game.
I don't care if it's the Cavs or Mavs, as long as we get to play at home on opening night for our ring ceremony, tbh.
