The Errors lover has been bring the bads lately.
It's possible. Ayres arrived differently, and the Spurs don't make a big deal about how players use those situations to their advantage. Aron goes and earns a big offer from someone, and the Spurs match it. He's basically writing his own paycheck with his play on the court. That's a pretty good way to do it.
They're almost certainly going to keep Ayres. If Baynes signs with the Spurs and anyone is going to be sacrificed to free up a spot, it'll be Daye.
There will be a team who can use Baynes. I remember Luc Longley before Chicago Bulls grabbed him, Longley was regarded as useless. A good coach knows how to use the big man. Baynes can block the lane on D just like Longley did at Chicago; on offence he sits at top of key and blocks guards when his team weaves on offense. Longley got and deserved 3 championship rings for that. Pop may remember that. If Baynes is not offered real money he should go !!! In the past clearly Pop did not encourage him to shoot; in Europe he has shown he can if encouraged. Funny same thing happened to Mills; how long did Pop take to give him the green light ?
Good call. Baynes reminds me of Longley as well. I like what I see in Baynes, although I confess that I didn't see much of Ayres play last year. Certainly Baynes was the better player in the playoffs for us, right?
I hope the Spurs sign him.
It also took him forever to let Tiago play...
That's just how Pop is, tbh. Unless you're a once in a generation type player like Timmy, you usually have to ride the bench for a year or two until Pop finally lets you play.
Pops greatest flaw, far and away. He is big man dyslexic. And for the record, i'm not an Ayers lover. If you are confused, it's probably because my sarcasm was so believable. jeebus
also, watch the Baynes minutes in game 3 of the finals. That man hit a 3!!!!
He attempted one 3 pointer in the playoffs, total, and missed. If you thought you saw one, it was after the shot clock or quarter buzzer, or his toe was on the line.
4th quarter, 1:17 remaining, game 3 of finals
made kawhi go full on dopey
Amazing. You found something that neither basketball reference or nba.com recorded!
watch the ing spotlight spot asshole!
And NBA.COM and everyone else failed to record it. Right. I'll take the word of a drunk guy.
No one in any official capacity seems to think that Aron hit any three pointers in these playoffs, although one attempt was recorded.
Don't hate the messenger.

The NBA doesn't think he took one, let alone made one.

fine, it wasn't a 3! but you are still a hair-splitting asshole.
either way, my point is Baynes ability to put the ball in the basket is underestimated.
I'm actually not doing any estimating of any kind, I'm looking at his numbers. He' was actually BETTER in his rookie year, but the sample size was smaller, only 16 games.
In 69 career games, encompassing 613 minutes of playing time and about 3 shots per game, Aron is shooting .447. That's poor for a big man, and not an estimate, over or under.
You're a tin man. You're argument has no heart. My argument might not have the statistical brains... but at the end of the day i'd rather have the heart to be on the pro-Baynes side than the brains to be on the pro-Ayers.
I don't really care about Ayres one way or the other. I hope he improves, but if not, they'll move on to someone else. It's fun to troll you guys, though. Someone had to stick up for the poor stone-handed bas .
It's not about heart, it's about numbers. The Spurs understand that, and it's one of the cornerstones of player acquisition for them: advanced stats. If you don't understand that, you don't understand the Spurs.
I don't see how exstatic can see the keyboard through his tears due to everyone bashing his favorite player.
don't try to defend Ayers or heartless faith of advanced stats. you will forget where you put the glasses that sit on your face.
Eh, all Ayres has to do is catch a few more passes and make a few more dunks this season.
Baynes has reached mania level Mensah-Bonsu at this point. Who else is playing for a contract in international friendlies?
I just don't see potential from Ayres.. I watched him all season and during the summer league. Baynes may be getting overrated here on ST, but that's kind of what ST does to everyone. That shouldn't take anything away from Aron, who I think could be very useful against larger front courts.
