Perhaps there weren't enough books translated for them.
African Americans are discouraged when it comes to reading. They're discouraged in many subjects. Then you have to realize that most black men at their prime ages can't write while there in jail. I'm black. I would know. Then the ones that aren't in jail would rather smoke weed, sell it (and or variations), rap, play basketball (Ironic because of this forum), play football, or just sit on their ass playing video games won't do anything. Then there's the few that work hard, knock up a woman because "it felt better without the condom", and leave.
Then you have the FEW FEW handful.........that go to college, earn an "honest"* degree, work hard, and make it through the corporate lifestyle. Its mostly black woman very few black men.
I'll admit, all stereotypes are true.....to an extent.
As far as I'm concerned, being oppressed all your life and force fed history that because you are specific color of "HUMAN", your family was literally tortured for centuries that you have no real origin and legacy to remember where you came from. Only that......you were a slave lol. That you never had your teachers teach you about African kings or successful African cultures. Just Rome, and Socrates, and Plato, and Aristotle, Greece, and Byzantine Empire. No need to be angry brother.
The African American culture is very unmotivated to learn. That's why i surround myself with colleagues from the U that I appreciate. They take the time in the effort to "KNOW" .

Technically, no. "Blacks don't read," and "Blacks do read," can both be true simultaneously. I am saying that I have seen no real racial distinction when it comes to the amount someone reads.
Well I have, and others I know have also because they brought to my attention.
I did live with a lot of black guys in the Navy, don't recall ever seeing one readng a book.

How happy and satisfied are atheists in America? According to a couple of Barna polls, atheists and agnostics are pretty happy and satisfied but they aren't as happy or satisfied as Christians. The happiest and most satisfied are evangelical Christians while the least happy and least satisfied are the atheists and agnostics.
Is this difference due to religion generally or Christianity in particular? Do atheism or agnosticism make a person less happy or less satisfied? Some Christians will certainly draw such conclusions, but these aren't the only or best conclusions to
draw.

How many folks in general did you see read books? I bet that number would be even smaller if you were serving now.
I'd say about a third read books, mostly kickers. We traded books around. But never with any black guys.
You got me then. Ima start knocking books out of brothas' grips now and threaten to cut off their hands. I thought we were equal, but I had no idea there was no black representation in the 70s Naval Book Club.
None in any of the jobs I held later on either taking us up to 2011.
Just Google...why don't blacks read....it's all there.

i made a statement about booty's size that was inaccurate. when i realized what i said was inaccurate, i quickly said "ok i was wrong, i take that back."
when you made up fake physicals, you stuck by your story despite there being no do entation of it. certainly a heisman winner failing a pre-draft physical would have made the papers. but it didn't, and you are STILL sticking with your story. thats the difference.
