Per 24/7, 2016 LB DeMarco Boyd officially has an offer now.

A few notes from 24/7...
-WR Ryan Newsome of Aledo has changed his tune a bit and is now saying he will definitely take an official visit to UT in January. If he goes through with all of the official visits he already has scheduled, Texas will be his fifth and final visit.
-Texas continues to keep in contact with LB Michael Scott of Irving Nimitz. He's mentioned UT wants him to come in as an ATH and see where he fits best, and he has no problem with that. He mentions a UT offer would be hard to turn down.
-S Carlton Davis of Miami, FL is another 305 DB saying he will likely take an official visit to Austin once his high school season ends. He is currently committed to Ohio State.
I wish I still had the stat, but for at least the first month of the season, Texas' defense was in the Top 10 (possibly Top 5) for the amount of plays defended per game. Luckily the offense is improving.

OSU suing Wickline for $600,000.00 for breach of contract alleging that he is not calling plays for Texas. Basically by making a lateral move he triggered the liquidated damage clause in his contract.
A&M has offered 2016 QB Shea Patterson of Shreveport, LA.
WR John Burt got his Under Armour All-American jersey today at a ceremony at his school. Here is a quote from ESPN.
"Really the only two programs I still have interest in are Auburn and Texas, and I’m trying to kind of decide if I want to stay committed to Texas or commit to Auburn,” Burt said. “It’s kind of hard to say which way I’m leaning. It kind of moves around a little bit. But really I’m just kind of flip-flopping and weighing out all of the options.”
"I might visit both schools; it all really just depends if I flip to Auburn,” Burt said. "Pretty much after I make this final decision, I’m pretty much going to be done after that. So it really all depends."

Typical scheduling conflict. A&M realized they only have three conference games at home in year 2018 and asked Oregon to flip locations/years in '18/'19 to gain another home game for season ticket holders. Oregon declined so A&M dropped. A&M will add another top program to the schedule to take the place of Oregon in the coming days.
Hey, that's a pretty good excuse to drop Oregon and replace them with a school like Lamar

Some Friday notes from 24/7...
-Texas is starting to put the "full court press" on JUCO OL Martinas Rankin of Mississippi Gulf Coast CC. He is in contact with several coaches including Strong, Wickline and Koenning. Rankin has said he will likely officially visit Texas before making a decision.
-CB Kendall Sheffield of Fort Bend Marshall may be coming around when it comes to Texas. Word is he has decided to visit UT before committing in January and wants to give Coach Strong an opportunity to make his pitch. No news on whether he would visit unofficially or officially.
The basketball program just picked up a commitment from Kerwin Roach of North Shore High School. Supposedly he is best friends with 2016 Safety prospect Eric Monroe of North shore High School also. Pretty sure this has a significant impact on Eric Monroe's decision.
