Thank you lawd, been wanting this to happen.
Austin Daye was trash imho, glad the Spurs finally cut him. He is a shooter who can't shoot for and when given minutes routinely did nothing on the court. This Green dude can't be worse

Well I'm looking forward to seeing JaMychal. Kinda weird that the Spurs waived Daye instead of Ayres since I think JaMychal's and Ayres' games overlap.
Green has been killing it here in Austin. Great move tbh.
He's negative in several advanced stats.
Oh well, I guess his last good game wasn't good enough.
I think his problem is he doesn't seem to play well within the offense.
Yeah, great news. If only we can do this to Bonner or Ayres...

not too surprising, although I thought Daye has more upside potential that Ayers. But I'm glad to get Green because his energy and physical presence can be a plus, assuming of course that his success in Austin shows he can translate these things to the NBA.
After all, D. Green is a D-League alum and we now depend on him a lot. So GO Jamychal! Show us what you got.
Does this mean Danny Green will have to wear D. Green on his jersey?
Green showing all the moves, dunks, layups, 3 point shooting, blocks, mid range shots:
Jamychl Green reminds you a little of draymond green in he has the athleticism plus a developing shot out to the three point line.
Hope he develops![]()
So, Jamychal Green is the #2 player in the DLeague. What it means to NBA? Or even far, to the Spurs? Well, he will be a 15th player, nothing more.
Check this out, ridiculous dunk, two 3 pointers from the corner.... no wonder the Spurs had to sign him.
no disrespect .....goodbye daye ...... o JaMychal.....
hope theres a chance JaMychal gets some playing time
Danny Green and JaMychal Green= Money$$$$$$$
Damn, I didn't know he could knock down shots from outside like that, that's sick. If he can knock those down, he's going to be a huge help, he can even play backup SF.
I had high hopes the Spurs could develop Daye but he's failed to make significant improvement in any aspect of the game. Green has made steady improvement so I like this move. Hopefully if Green does well it will allow KA to spend some time in Austin getting the playing time he desperately needs to move forward.
Baynes is still an RFA.
My mistake. Still doesn't really change things. Highly highly unlikely both Ayres and Baynes will be back next year. That's where Green makes sense.
His athleticism might come into good use against OKC
Both will probably be sent back to Austin now that everyone else is relatively healthy. Unless either show rotation worthiness as a combo forward for this season there's no reason to have them just sit on the bench all season.
