not even sure what shlub means... awkward?
Trent?
Russ?
Brad Johnson?
Ben?
Eli?
Peyton?
Flacco?
2001 Brady?
basically means that the rest if the team carried him......or won in spite of him
best example of shlubbery is Russ winning the NFC le game despite having more INTs than completions by half time.
hmmmm...do you man a schlub in the Super Bowel itself? or do you mean a QB that sucked the whole season?
For the game itself...
yep...Big Ben...Super Bowl XL. Went 9-21 I think. Seems like he barely threw for 100 yards. A couple of picks.
Putting pen to paper...around a 27 passer rating. Would be the lowest in SB history by a playcaller that still....
yep...took home the ....hmmmmm
yep...trophy

I did no know 2001 Brady could have been in that boat tbh...
either or both.
I think Trent Dilfer is the shlub king but Russ might knock him off this year.

Pittsburgh is one of the weakest teams i've ever seen make a conference championship games that year... Kordell Stewart. Pats won 24-17, and they got a punt return TD and a FG block for a TD, while Stewart served up 3 picks
Doug Williams (no racist).
Brady's stats from '01. Looks like all he was then was a game manager (good completion %, low yards, ect.) He made the pro-bowl but his stats weren't impressive.
Brady only averaged 189 passing yards a game that year. 18td/12int.
Pretty shlubby
It was his first year as starter... he did quite well considering cir stances...
During the POs he played solid, on OT against the raiders he completed all his passes, only one int... injured second game, he had a legendary last 2 min in the SB..
not sure we can call that shlubby
no way Pats won in spite of him
he had quite key role both in RS and SB... we are light years from Wilson and his 4 int
upsetting a 14 point favourite is being carried![]()
In the Oakland game they only won because of the worst call in NFL history... and in the last two playoff games they were outscored by the opposing offenses. beat the Rams by 3 but had an pick-6. beat the steelers by 7 and got 14 points on defense/special teams.
wouldn't say they won despite him, but he was largely just along for the ride. Seahawks stayed in the game despite Wilson, but he did come up at the end
that means his team must have played well enough to upset a 14 point favorite. Ty Law's pick 6 + Vinatieri's heroics tbh
If brady did not come up at the end against raiders and the famous 1min26 for the kick I don't know what it is...
brady was a rookie not sure what you could expect more from a rookie but whatever... dude had only one int in 3 POs games... Went 6-0 last 6 games RS and won 11 out of 14 total
despite of him
I never said "despite of him" and yet it's the second time you've built up that strawman. If you're going to give brady credit for Vinatieri' clutch field goals in the snow, then u have to give Wilson tons of credit for the last 4 minutes + OT against green bay
Im part of the crew giving Wilson credit for the last 4 min, he made 2/3 great plays at the end no doubt. Wilson is a great QB IMHO
you said I would not say they won despite of him which means you are not far from thinking that... Well at least this is what a french would say like he is not too far from...
if the pats really felt they were winning "in spite of brady" then they would have gone back to bledsoe
We agree then.. Brady 2001 should not be part of this thread
the only viable options are brad johnson and trent dilfer then
