Kawhi is the best player on the spurs this year. Although he does not have the offensive numbers for the casual fan to "eye test" him as a franchise player, he is a top 10 player in the league per RPM, due to his being an elite defensive player and a good offensive player.
Even so, I don't think he belongs in the discussion of all-time greats, not by a long shot.
To be in the all-time discussion, he needs to be the top player (or so) in the league at least for a few years.
He simply does not have enough success to be in the discussion by consideration of individual accomplishments (All-stars, league MVP, stats), or team success (# championships as clearly best player, even if you count last year).
I mean, he already has an FMVP, and he is young so who knows where he goes in the future. IMO, he is clearly a top 10 player and the best player on the spurs, but all-time great? Today? No way. We have Tim, Kobe, and Shaq as recent all-time greats from the 2000's, and Kawhi is not in the same statosphere as those guys in terms of accomplishments to date.
So, what can we take from this:
Deluded?
Kidding?
Irrational?
I really want to understand how someone could say this and be serious. Lets level set. Who actually agrees with nut-hugger? I want to see people defend that and pass the laugh test.
I am posting this because I can't take someone seriously if they are going to say things like this. I am trying to see if there is anything redeeming about the content of the poster's posts. Anything other than comedy value as reason to not block at this point.
