The thing is, Sheed's brain is the only thing that kept him from being a superstar. He's one of the most naturally gifted players to ever pick up a ball.

Nah, you don't trade a superstar for a washed up Allen Iverson.
that was in 08 right? i was talking about the years when they were feared 04-06

You don't go from superstar to traded for nothing 2 years later. Chauncey was never a superstar. There are only a few. Melo is borderline. KD is a superstar. Lebron is a megastar.

Pistons Big 4 were All NBA/All Star caliber players. None produced consistent high level production with versatile skills, not to mention the marketing tag that goes to "Real Superstars" who are widely popular compared to other players.

Ben Wallace was extremely one dimensional. He got more love from the mainstream basketball fans than his game dictates tbh. I don't have a problem with people putting him in that elite superstar group, but personally his peak was extremely short and his offensive was a huge liability to be considered as one.

And? Trading isn't the standard for being a superstar, it's the drop-off in your game

remembered in general, not by you. and, most of the time.. there may always be some external reason to remember something, such as arenas gun problems or eddy curry's explosed fatass the moment he got paid..

Detroit wasn't unlucky. They were a victim of the same thing other teams fall victim to; themselves. So many teams have a good thing going and it up by shuffling the deck again on a win streak. You see it all the time. Hey we made the Finals... let's let this guy go, acquire this overrated guy and next year we'll be even better. Hey we won a ring, let's blow it up, it's easy to build a championship contender.

Can't really blame them for not being able to afford Okur, and McDyess was a great replacement. They would have needed to salary dump one of the Wallaces to pay Okur, which would have been ridiculous.
