that was in 08 right? i was talking about the years when they were feared 04-06
The thing is, Sheed's brain is the only thing that kept him from being a superstar. He's one of the most naturally gifted players to ever pick up a ball.
that was in 08 right? i was talking about the years when they were feared 04-06
You don't go from superstar to traded for nothing 2 years later. Chauncey was never a superstar. There are only a few. Melo is borderline. KD is a superstar. Lebron is a megastar.
Shaq was a superstar in 03-04 and then was cottailing Wade in 06.
Pistons Big 4 were All NBA/All Star caliber players. None produced consistent high level production with versatile skills, not to mention the marketing tag that goes to "Real Superstars" who are widely popular compared to other players.
Ben Wallace was extremely one dimensional. He got more love from the mainstream basketball fans than his game dictates tbh. I don't have a problem with people putting him in that elite superstar group, but personally his peak was extremely short and his offensive was a huge liability to be considered as one.
How is Ben a superstar? The dude had no offensive game![]()
Shaq demanded the trade. Not the same.
And? Trading isn't the standard for being a superstar, it's the drop-off in your game
They drafted this guy too.
Can he be considered bad luck since the old sport won a le with them?
i still dunno why they broke up that core...is it because bwallace left so might as well break up the team?
they couldve competed for a couple of more years at least 4yrs
breaking up that team, open up the way for celtics big3 and heat 3 easy compe ion
was mutombo a superstar? if a player is remembered without thinking, then he's a superstar most of the time. ben was an automatic dpoy, that's gotta count for something..
Oh hi I remember menke bateer too![]()
remembered in general, not by you. and, most of the time.. there may always be some external reason to remember something, such as arenas gun problems or eddy curry's explosed fatass the moment he got paid..
So your standards of being a superstar is remembrance and not actual production
Detroit wasn't unlucky. They were a victim of the same thing other teams fall victim to; themselves. So many teams have a good thing going and it up by shuffling the deck again on a win streak. You see it all the time. Hey we made the Finals... let's let this guy go, acquire this overrated guy and next year we'll be even better. Hey we won a ring, let's blow it up, it's easy to build a championship contender.
no, it's actual production, but actual production for the big picture, not david lee kind of production.. melo can't be a superstar, that's a given.. tmac can't either..
so melo and tmac arent but Ben wallace is
wtf
Can't really blame them for not being able to afford Okur, and McDyess was a great replacement. They would have needed to salary dump one of the Wallaces to pay Okur, which would have been ridiculous.
in my opinion, yes.. i mean none will remember tmac ten years from now..
TMAC was a Superstar
