He's a winner. He's in a loser's circle.
It happens.
The Thunder finished the season 3-7 when Westbrook scored 40 or more points. What an alpha warrior. A winner who doesn't get winning, right Thread ?
He's a winner. He's in a loser's circle.
It happens.
The team has a much better record when said winner does less and said loser circle does more.
He's a winner.
“Throughout the years I’ve been trying to find ways to be a better leader,” Westbrook told ESPN. “Leadership was a huge thing for me coming into the season. I felt the way I reacted to certain plays, my facial expressions and my demeanor can change a lot for us as a team both positively and negatively.”
Can anyone honestly say Russ has improved in this area? His own self-assessment acknowledges that it's a problem.

One does not conquer one's failures without first acknowledging their existence. Nonetheless they die hard and are forever on the peripheral tempting one when you're under the most strain and stress, but, him throwing that scoring le into the shredder was certainly representative.
Very true, and that's my issue with Russ. The scowling/arguing on court with teammates thing has been an issue and still is. The terrible 3pt% has been an issue, and is as bad or worse than ever. No one who shoots 29.9% from three should jack up 288 shots in a season. Russ is the only player in the the top ten of RPM who has a negative defensive rating. He has all the natural talent in the world, but instead of playing smarter he amplifies everything good and bad as he dominates the team in usage%. When coaches, players, and scouts talk about Anthony Davis and Stephen Curry, there's really nothing bad to say. But when those same people talk about Westbrook and DeMarcus Cousins, it's inevitable that certain topics are always brought up... not because people arbitrarily want to criticize, but because there are actual, legitimate issues. Russ started all this by making terrible shot making decisions in the finals against LeBron & Co., and while he has improved as a player since then, too many of his issues are still unresolved.
Curry is a Media darling, same with Davis. Westbrook has not canvassed for Media's favor and I appreciate that. He's chosen to go it alone, so to speak. And he's correct there. In the bitter end you'll be alone just before you do OR don't ring...and Media has targeted Westbrook and left Curry to himself. For example, let Curry get squeezed out of the 8th spot last nite and put his scoring le in the trash barrel. We'd hear nothing but that. With Westbrook,,,it's an aside. Media doesn't want that. They've written the story already about Westbrook coveting that scoring le. Now they have to delete that story on their lap top and move away. & that galls them no end.
Media is rats & vermin. They lie with impunity, because they can.
The media's just like every other category of humans-- teachers, police, accountants, athletes-- some are rats and vermin, some are knowledgeable and honest. When people started questioning Westbrook's shot selection in the finals against the Heat, those questions were legitimate questions. The guy was 3 for 22 from the three point line and took more shots than the much more efficient Durant in the series. It's not like an arbitrary witchhunt appeared out of thin air. He exhibited a tendency to take make poor decisions, and lots of people noticed.
With regards to the way many perceive him, I think his own words say it best: "I felt the way I reacted to certain plays, my facial expressions and my demeanor can change a lot for us as a team both positively and negatively.” ? Anthony Davis doesn't have this problem. If he did, people would talk about it.
But, only Media gets to lie on the job with impunity. These other vocations take a very dim view of falsehood and if one is caught in such is disciplined. Not so with Media. That's where I liken them to vermin, to the rat. The rat has no conscience, no regret. Neither does Media.
lmao Westbrook celebrates every basket and now hes calling somebody out for the same thing?? what a clown
Yet curry can do the mambo in front of other teams benches and nobody says .
outta here![]()
