we've already had the "science has been wrong" discussion. the difference is science is flexible. when science is wrong, guess who finds out that they were wrong? oh, other scientists. einstein, a scientist, is the one who showed newton's laws of gravity were wrong. theories involving something like god, which can't be proven nor disproven, are inflexible. they've held the same belief for thousands of years.
if scientists makes mistakes, they own up to it, make corrections, and move on. i find it unlikely the creationists have been 100% correct about everything this whole time. but they haven't corrected anything or moved on from anything. they're still fixated on the same archaic view

Australian fossil forces rethink on our ancestors' emergence onto land
A 333-million year old broken bone is causing fossil scientists to reconsider the evolution of land-dwelling vertebrate animals, says a team of palaeontologists, including QUT evolutionary biologist Dr Matthew Phillips, and colleagues at Monash University and Queensland Museum.
Analysis of a fractured and partially healed radius (front-leg bone) fromOssinodus pueri, a large, primitive, four-legged (tetrapod), salamander-like animal, found in Queensland, pushes back the date for the origin of demonstrably terrestrial vertebrates by two million years, said Dr Phillips, a researcher in the Vertebrate Evolution Group in QUT's School of Earth, Environmental and Biological Sciences.
"Previously described partial skeletons of Ossinodus suggest this species could grow to more than 2m long and perhaps to around 50kg," Dr Phillips said.
"Its age raises the possibility that the first animals to emerge from the water to live on land were large tetrapods in Gondwana in the southern hemisphere, rather than smaller species in Europe.
"The evolution of land-dwelling tetrapods from fish is a pivotal phase in the history of vertebrates because it called for huge physical changes, such as weight bearing skeletons and dependence on air-breathing."
Dr Phillips said the nature of the break in the radius bone was studied using high-resolution finite element analysis by Peter Bishop for his honours research at QUT.
"The nature of the fracture suggests the bone broke under high-force impact.
"The break was most plausibly caused by a fall on land because such force would be difficult to achieve with the cushioning effect of water.
"Indeed, the fracture is somewhat reminiscent of people falling on an outstretched arm and the humerus crashing into and fracturing the radius."

Of course the idea of life on Earth evolving from other life could be wrong.
So now you come to the following questions that are much tougher:
1. So how do new species arise mechanistically? Or you want the religious, poof, they just came about, Uhhh, because they just did.
2. What about Evolution do you find incomprehensible?

A much better question could be ' why did it take eukaryotes so damn long to evolve from prokaryotes?' (Boots article should arouse your curiosity) If you could mechanistically go through why this could not happen it would be a revelation and actually have value.

I REALLY do NOT want to create another thread about this topic.... Do "believers" even understand what a "THEORY" is in the context of science?
Do you people even realize how FRUSTRATING it is to argue with someone who doesn't even understand the basic principles of what we are discussing?
It is literally like answering a child who keeps asking "why?" for every answer you give.
the "Theory" of Evolution is LITERALLY the same as the "theory" of GRAVITY. We know about gravity and the "theory" of it helps explain it.... Just because it is a "theory" doesn't mean it is just a fantasy. We KNOW Gravity exist, the Theory, although incomplete, helps explain it.
This also applies to the "theory" of evolution..... We have bountiful evidence to help support the "theory" therefore until someone comes up with a contradictory theses that stands up to scientific scrutiny, it will stand as the best model... Just FYI, Evolution has been under scrutiny for almost 200 years and is one of the most robust "Theories" ever to be posited in the human race.
