Well, if that jumpshot is real, I'd say he's closer to Baynes than Blair. Plus he seems like a refined post-player for his level. That's a cool combo for a shot-blocker/rebounder type.
He made the cut!

Wood and Alexander were both there. Both younger with considerably more upside. Granted, he's the 55th pick so I'm not losing sleep over it, but it seems pretty stupid on the surface.
That's the first good thing (suggesting potential) I've heard about this guy.
Meanwhile, guys like Jonathan Holmes, Christian Wood, and Cliff Alexander went un-drafted. Spurs summer league team, perhaps?
Sounds like my usual Friday night.
I agree. He looks like he has some decent post moves and can hit the face up jumper. The Spurs drafted him because of his physical attributes but it looks like he has some mobility and he doesn't seem to have bad hands so I am actually looking forward to seeing him in Summer League.
That's too many "n"s in one name.
Bro, are you trolling right now? I mean, you've gone full emo with swings from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other in less than two hours. Either you're drunk, trolling, or menstruating.
Yeah. Hence the Blair comparison that Richie made. But Blair was a severely undersized center. LaLanne seems like he could play some four due to that shot. And of course, we'll see if the defense can stay at the NBA (summer league) level.
Racist.
Ha! Ha! Well, he's not soft. AND THAT's a good thing.
SJax 2.0
I'm more interested in Frazier, or did he get picked?
Well one thing to keep in mind is that everyone else passed on them too. Something went on?
Holmes surprised me. He'd been moving up in the mocks -- many had him at the end of the first round lately.
They probably would be if they even knew this forum exists.
First, I'm obsessed with the summer league, which is a principle reason why I hate draft and stashes (they're almost always under contract with another team). Second, I hated the idea of stashing the first-rounder because it saved a pointlessly small amount of money. So I feel the Spurs are wrong-headed and wasted yet another asset. If the off-season doesn't go perfectly from here on out, it'll be a pointless sacrifice. I actually like the guy they picked as a player.
I understand that, and agree it's a relevant point. It's just surprising you'd choose an incomplete 23yr old over an incomplete 20yr old.
Doesn't see the light of day
FWIW, had I sat through this entire process if be right there with you. Glad I decided to take my kid to a ballgame through the first round.
He has those droopy eyelids cops hate. . .

Yep. If he makes the squad that is.
