I'm expecting a more athletic Splitter with a instead of a vagina !
Splitter was a superstar in Euro basketball. This guy isn't (at least not yet).
I wouldn't go that far, but he was pretty good indeed. But don't forget that Splitter was 25 y/o when SA brought him and he wasn't a "star" in Spain when he was 20 y/o.
Milutinov is is still 20 y/o. He has a long way to go.
Forget his genitals, how are his calf muscles?
Not sure if it's true, but I'm listening to the Dunc'd On podcast from Nate Duncan of RealGM, and he says that as long as there is a written agreement between Milutinov and the Spurs that he won't be coming over this year, the cap hold disappears.
For the 1st round pick, but there will then be a roster charge for that spot.

The intrepid @Monroe_SA tracked down young Nikola Milutinov. Cites his hero as (of course) Vlade Divac. "The one and only."

"Hopefully Spurs fans will see me in Spurs jersey soon and will understand what type of a player I am. I won't disappoint them."

Interviewed #Spurs draftee Nikola Milutinov, who explained how he gave up swimming for hoops ... story coming soon on EN.com
Don't worry mate, it's stacked !
Great sig btw
Well! Duncan gave up swimming for hoops. This guy will be awesome.
Ha thanks. Well, it looks like Nik is less like to have the calf probs Tiago has... Of course, there's more muscle to injure.![]()
It sure worked for Duncan...
Which is the slot any FA would displace should he sign an offer sheet and be considered for league approval. For the purposes of signing a potential free agent you do not add in another minimum salary.
Better than errors trex arms.![]()
Looks like the end is nigh for Splitter.
Expecting many Splitter suckers to jump off the nearest building asap
You don't add in a min salary, but you absolutely do add in a roster charge. From a cap space perspective in the example I quoted, instead of there being a cap hold for the 1st round pick, you have a roster charge for that spot that eats away at cap space. It's less than the 1st rounder charge, but it still takes away from cap space. It doesn't go to zero for cap space purposes in the post I responded to if that makes sense.
I can't see this guy getting any meaningful playing time in the playoffs if they move Splitter, Pop almost never plays rookies in the playoffs and if he does they see heavily limited minutes despite no matter how well they play. We've seen Pop do it with almost every single rookie he's had.
Pretty disappointed that he won't be brought over. They're gonna have roster spots, and will have to renounce Baynes to have any cap room, and Ayres of course. He could fill a Baynsian role pretty much off the bat, at least the rookie version of Baynes. Baynes is an over 30 guy who is in as good shape as he'll ever be, and probably gone. Milutinov could do the same things, play tough, dive to the rim, play hard. Don't really want to wait 3 years or however long it will take.
I was a little sour when the Spurs picked him over Harrell, because I think the Spurs are lacking with or without Aldridge an athletic big who can do all the dirty work, but I really like this pick now after seeing some of his good and bad highlights. It seem like a lot of his struggles he has are due to his strength, but he added twenty five pounds as mentioned so it will interesting to see if that will help him develop more. I really like his form on his outside shot, may need some tweaking of it because his misses seem to be all short. I never understood how you can be such a great offensive rebounded, but an average defensive rebounder when especially when effort is one of your strengths. Outside of his poor shot blocking which I think will eventually come with more experience and feel for the game, he plays the pick n roll extremely well for his age and also moves extremely well for a guy his size. He finishes extremely well at the rim also, and him adding strength is going to help him finish and ones, and not settle for tough hook shots in the post which his post game isn't all that bad either. I think he will be a solid backup big man at least in the NBA in about two years, which is expected out of the 26 selection. Great pick!

i'm embarrassed we draft him, worse than Bynes:
You have to account for N roster charges. So if you want to tell what the cap space is now then yes you definitely have to include that Nth charge. OTOH if you are trying to sign a free agent, you sign them an offer sheet and then submit it. The league looks to see if the deal would put them over the cap. When they do that accounting the FA figure will replace that Nth figure as long as it's the minimum. Thus me saying 'for the purposes of signing a FA.'
2 days and that is the best you can come up with?
Not sure if serious. Milutinov is staying overseas for at least 2 years, probably more.
