Yeah, saw that after I hit submit. Got tied up with work in between so missed that.
They don't make that trade with Detroit unless they have some sort of nod from Aldridge OR someone else as a backup.
I'm sure he'll be flying to NY for a meeting.

Not enough. They have about another $11 Million to go.
If we don't land LMA, hopefully the Splitter trade was just a tactic that Bud was in on.
That's what we thought about the Spurs too
Nah man, hooked up with Jeannie

Aldridge is, as Yahoo! reported, meeting a second time with the Lakers this afternoon, & will be meeting with Pat Riley in L.A., per source
Nothing can happen until next week. All these deals that have been agreed to an be reneged on. For the last two days the sports world has been fixated on him. It's the best thing for the LMA brand since being drafted. Teams love him for it because they can sell their fanbases 'at least we tried' and he builds rapport with execs across the league. He can even on the Lakers because half the fans hate them anyway and it's the truth.
It's kinda amusing to watch.
If he wants to win he'll come here amongst the options he has. That hasn't changed.

The second meeting with the Lakers will only involve GM Mitch Kupchak and Coach Byron Scott, & will only be about basketball, per source.
I don't understand why LMA would leave Portland if hes concerned about winning to go to a team where they would be worse. Hes leaving 30million on the table, and would seriously think Suns/Lakers are the best option?
I'm guessing his agency got worried that they pissed off the Lakers after word leaked that LMA wasn't impressed by their presentation yesterday. So they're giving the Lakers another try ... and get ready for LMA to be BLOWN AWAY (!!!!!!!!!!) by the newest Lakers presentation.
But then he'll sign with another team.
Jeanie's busy, she just took Phil's interview slot.![]()
Fans just don't like being yanked around. It's kind of gotten a little out of hand and a little silly.
It doesn't, but if the Splitter trade is contingent on Aldridge signing, as disappointing as losing out on him would be, they'll still be in a great spot potentially. Aldridge and West are actually similar offensively, only West is at the point where he'd accept being a role player, so the fit would probably be seamless.
Even if the Splitter trade isn't based on that contingency, it seems doubtful, but if they could find a way to get Koufos too, they'd still be in a great spot. O'Quinn, would be fine as well.
That's not the way Jeannie looks at it.
(Man, you have to be quick on this board.)
I feel sick that an organization like the Spurs, is being associated with all these pathetic, star-hungry franchises.
Maybe Jeanie Buss is going to show her brother how it's done.
Was it? Thanks for clarifying.
1) LMA would get all the blame as well in Phoenix.
2) LMA's stock won't drop from 2 years(I'd expect LMA to do. 3 year player option deal just in case things turn sour) with Spurs....teams know Spurs play team ball, so if his stats go down, don't expect his long term value to drop.
Aldridge just wants to collect airline miles. Trolling bas .
bingo!
