West for me.
You can do a lot worse than Amar'e for the vet min. I'm not saying he'd be a game changer or anything, but I'd definitely take him over most of the available guys out there. He's still one of the best PnR bigs in the league, which is important considering Manu will likely be playing alongside him most of the time. The question will be whether he'd play for the minimum (doubt it), and whether he'd he fine with being the 4th big and playing pretty limited minutes. He played 16 mpg with Dallas last year, so I don't think that would be a problem.
People are going to have to lower their expectations a bit when it comes to the backup center. It's hard to find a quality big man for the MLE...much less for the vet min. Unless we get really lucky, our backup center isn't going to be too great![]()
West for me.
The solution is to get them both, and pass on LMA.
If we're going back in time to 2005, sure why not?
Cool prime Timmy and Manu!
Me too. I've been wanting a big who isn't afraid to get a little dirty.
Manu's hair is coming back.
Yup - he offers everything Amare does (he's maybe slightly less mobile) but has a great mindset. But I would be really happy w/ Amare too as the 4th big.

I like Stoudemire.
While we're at it, what's wrong with Jordan Hill? I've always thought he had unrealized potential.
Would he be the next Kevin Willis, Antoine Carr, Antionio McDyess, Naz Mohammed for us?
If we can get 10 and 5 from him in limited minutes, and he signs for the Minimum, then why not.
David Lee, Nene Hilario, Omri Casspi and those types are not coming through the door any time soon
Would take him as the bench center. He can score and will be cheap. Should have picked him up last season.
He'd be a decent fit as a backup at this point in his career.
His personality isn't exactly Spur material..
Exactly. The Spurs always do better with tough old bigs desperate for a ring.
It's demanding prima donnas like LMA that disappoint. (Not that they ever come in the first place.)
Yeah, but Jack helped get 'em a ring.![]()
Sure, 6 fouls. Nah, for a smallish contract he'd be alright.
I'm sure Amar'e hates the Spurs.
If you can't beat them, join them.
Like West, he would be fine as a 4th big, but nothing else..
No. David West would be that man. He'd be a superior version of Kevin Willis, Tony Massenburg.
Really underrated. As in he doesn't provide any rim protection.
Yeah. Since we have vet mins to work with, having such potential options is phenomenal.
