Could the Spurs do a S&T with Cavs involving CoJo and Mozgov? If they end up getting West, they're going to need to clear that logjam a bit... and Mozgov is in the last year of his contract.
    Cavs would not trade Mozgov.

David West has strong ties to Ohio --- from family connections to his days as national player of the year at Xavier.
Knew he went to Xavier but didn't put it together for the Cavs.

Impossible, his contract is a hefty sum to take on and the numbers don't work at all unless we trade players to get him.

Spurs probably don't have the money to really compete at this point, unless they have some other move up their sleeves.

Don't even give a after the Aldridge news. Getting West too would almost just be unfair.
Spurs didn't care about Aldridge news because sources said LMA picked Spurs even before free agency began and I'm pretty sure Spurs knew LMA was just toying with other teams. But now that there's a marquee FA joining the Spurs I really hope it ends up like Miami or Cavs where players will take pay cuts to play. However, with the Cavs and Miami, most of the players who did take paycuts weren't bigs, who are able to get big money elsewhere.

It bodes well that West has already said he's willing to take a paycut to contend. Now the question is how far will those scales tip? Spurs will probably only be able to offer him the vet min, so they'll be on the low end of the pay scale...but arguably could give him his best chance to ring.

I absolutely don't see this happening. If it happens I will be shocked. He can get way more money than the minimum elsewhere.

Did any of you watch what Biyombo DID after getting drafted? He couldn't get minutes ahead of Jason Maxiell. And his defense/shot blocking actually got worse the longer he played. He wasn't NBA-ready, and he still isn't. Lots of raw athleticism, and he's still only 22. But there is no way he contributes to a Spurs roster this season.

I've been a big a big supporter of Biyombo. But after thinking about it more, why not just go with Lallanne? Cady is an inch taller, has the same length, his athleticism is good, and he has a better shot.

I assume West decided awhile back he wanted to play for a legit le contender at a much reduced price. If his college days in Ohio were such a pull to the cavs couldn't he have signed w them days ago? I don't believe he is from Ohio. Just played college there. Believe he is from NJ and played highschool in Virginia. Whatever it is I find the timing of his wait hopefully not just a coincidence w the timing of the Spurs and Aldridge.

It simply the story of the cavs interest in West could simply be from the Lebron camp crying that all the free agents aren't banging on the door this offseason to play for food stamps for the opportunity to play w James.

Or simply there may not be an immediate or huge market /interest in West at the moment. Would be a great fit for the Spurs. Hope he doesn't become just another member of the Lebron fan club.

West originally grew up in NJ but he went to hschool down in NC. His NC ties are strong he has a summer home in Raleigh and his whole entire family lives in the Raleigh area.

    Cavs would not trade Mozgov.
A media member brought up the Cavs trading Mozgov since he's in the last year of his deal... said the Cavs would want to try and get something for him since it's unlikely he will stay with them.

If it was going to happen (can't see it, but) wouldn't Boris be the most obvious? That would be a big change in the complexion of the team.
