Whats funny is Pop even benched him for the series after that, like he felt so embarassed by it himself or bad for him he said you are not playing again and that was a wrap for him (Ironically in a Spurs Uni too). Whats funny is Pop even benched him for the series after that, like he felt so embarassed by it himself or bad for him he said you are not playing again and that was a wrap for him (Ironically in a Spurs Uni too). It was that wrestle for that ball with Barnes that lost me. I cannot believe he got punked by Barnes. It's one thing getting dunking on by Blake Griffin, but darn, there is no way he should have been made to look a fool by Matt Barnes. I thought that was pathetic and weak and I was disgusted with him after that. He just got abused. I was one of the guys that wanted him back last season with a slight raise, but I didn't think he's worth much more than he got paid last season. The guy really didn't show much toughness out there and I thought that was what he was on the team for. To be an enforcer and show some toughness out there. Well, that is what I wanted him on the team for.

I also can't believe the contracts these guys are currently getting. There is no way that I'd pay Baynes, Belinelli or Joseph anywhere near the amount they've just gotten. Even if we had the cap room, I still wouldn't give them the amount they're going to get on these new contracts they're about to sign.

Splitter seems like a bargain right now compared to these guys. I wonder if the Spurs shopped Splitter around much before making the deal with Atlanta? If not, I wonder if they could have gotten something better from other teams right now if they could do that trade over.

I really hope they fill the 3rd PG role with Nate Wolters. I'm not entirely sure why the dude is floating around in summer leagues, tbh. He showed good promise in Milwaukee and I thought other teams would've taken notice.

Splitter was just for cap room to sign Aldridge imo, what did they get for him Anyways? Lol. I agree on those guys contracts though, insane!!! Wes Matthews near max too? Lol. I would not pay most of these guys near what they got but the contracts are getting a lot bigger now it seems for role players and just good players getting near max money. 30 mill for Joseph is insane, bet he is happy he left now and got that contract. He is a back up getting a big check.

R.C. wouldn't have given them that much. This is classic NBA. Role players on a championship team get massively overpaid. It happens all the time. With the cap boom coming and us shedding salary to get LaMarcus its just happening all at once right now. Remember R.C. and Pop lined up everyone's contracts to end at the same time. It's not surprising. Don't worry, R.C. will get us more role players as good as these. My only fear is it takes a year or so to do, since we're capped out.

And by far the most important "role player" (if we can call him that any more) was Danny Green who we locked up Day 1.

Pretty annoyed that Toronto would play the situation like that. They clearly don't plan to give up an asset to the Spurs (otherwise, the withdrawal of the QO would be unnecessary). So the Spurs are letting Cory go for nothing. If Manu retires, it will be a pretty terrible sequence of events for the Spurs.

It's the NBA. Teams don't have to make gift to the spurs.

That's the same when spurs fans are annoyed because a good player wouldn't accept to take a paycut to play for the spurs
