While I agree that the Spurs are likely in that rumor to bait others to join in the chase, any real pursuit of Boozer would suggest that the West thing is over.

I can't see the Spurs devoting resources to two relatively similar players like West and Boozer.
    "relatively similar"...LOL.

    relative to what? color?

Andre Miller can rack up assist numbers but he hardly facilitates an offense. His game is dribble dribble dribble. No thanks. I'd rather roll with Wolters tbh.

Andre Miller is a huge cancer, tbh..extremely ball-dominant, can't play off ball, only posts up, has a big ego, etc..

And pass on Boozer..he isn't a bad basketball player, but everything about him screams loser..

Boozer and West rumor came out at pretty much the same time on the 4th. Spurs are exploring all options like GREAT management should.

But I think West to the Spurs is very much alive. It was Warriors or Spurs. Warriors said no, and now it Spurs or Cavs. Cavs are logged rammed right now with Bigman. At this juncture, no doubt West would chose the Spurs.

haven't seen anyone even remotely interested in Andrea Bargnani

ALSO: Logjam upfront with the Cavs, agreed, but Spurs have Diaw and Aldridge to slot in at PF. How does West fit in the Spurs' frontcourt? Lots of writers (Matt Moore, Jeff McDonald, to name some) pointed out they need a legit center.

No to Miller, he's even more dribble dribble than Enrique.

And I don't want any of Boozer's "Get in there, Joe," on the Spurs.

It's a little strange IMO..he has a poor reputation, but he was actually really solid in his 30 games or so with the Knicks, last year..I would have assumed that there would be teams that could use his scoring off the bench..

Atrocious rebounder and team defender, but still a very solid scorer..

Withey. Seriously. The dude seems like the next in line from Green, James Johnson and Whiteside. Crazy potential, but has some issues with "getting it". Seems like a great guy to at least try out as the fifth big.

But I echo Hansbrough as an option. He's in a similar boat as Ellington in that he may sign up for a one-year deal because Green recruits him. He has at least as much talent as Baynes does, so I think a good year or two in the Spurs system can help him get another decent contract.

I like the idea of Hansbrough as well. He's a skilled player who plays hard, physical and has good size. Something the Spurs are certainly going to need.

If they could somehow swing West and Hansbrough as well as bringing Bonner back they would have a very formidable front line.

I co-sign the Withey idea from Chinook. Young big with potential who could end up being a legitimate backup C. Has good size to bang with some of the bigger centers if need be. Him and Aldrich are probably my top 2 most wanted centers.

no to Andre Miller. We're already likely banking on KA to get non-garbage time minutes...now y'all want to add a 40 year-old PG who's even slower? Miller/Mills/KA or even Miller/Mills/Manu would be horrible defensively.

No thanks on the Boozer idea...just having to hear him yell "and-1!!!" all season is enough to make me say no.

I like Hansbrough as well, but not sure I would classify that frontline as very formidable. I would say very serviceable. My concern is there isn't the proven rim protector coming off the bench. Hansbrough isn't much of a shot blocker, Bonner no, West average. Just need a tad more length, but for vet min salaries, we need to take most overall productive players we can get, despite deficiencies in an area or two. I do disagree on Boozer. I think the guy can still play and put him on a team with a legit le shot I think he comes here focused and zoned in. But agree he is fall back if we don't get West.

I do like the rumor out there that the Spurs are talking to Mo Williams. Just wondering how he and Patty would be utilized?

He was making the min in NO, and they withdrew the QO. So yes, I think he would.

I remember wanting the Spurs to draft Withey back then. Not much offensively but defensively he seems like a solid prospect. He'll probably struggle to stay in front of athletic guards but his rim protection alone makes him very intriguing (he also played volleyball). Unfortunately, there have been questions about his mentality. Seems to lack the focus and hunger it takes to make it. IIRC he thought about quitting basketball as a teenager.
