Yeah how much would that suck trying to sit comfortably with a gun on you, trying to concentrate on the movie but you can't because you're scouting the theater for potential shooters

I don't live my life scared of criminals, but that's just me. I understand somebody feeling differently, and I have good friends that feel different about it.

This whole thing basically amounts to the theater not wanting liability for an accidental discharge, etc. Business-wise, it's understandable why they choose to do this.

You can always stay home if you don't feel safe going to these places.
i don't either. But I don't see CCW'ing a gun any different than carrying jumper cables in your car. YMMV.

I support 100% the 2nd amendment as a matter of law. I don't like/trust guns though (even though I grew up around them, even shot some). Like you said, YMMV.

What's stupid? You said we should eliminate gun free zones. What did you mean when you said that? Private property owners should allow open/concealed carry? If two movie theater were across the street from each other, same price, both showing train wreck at 7:00 but one allow you to carry. By your logic, the one that allows carrying would outperform the one that didn't, right?
It was said off the cuff. A business can do as they please. I'm on the side of just ignoring the sign all together. Are you aware in some states these signs have no force of law for those with permits?

I understand not liking guns, but how do you not trust an inanimate object?

If you can't take away the element of surprise, then you have to take away the guns. Period.

Why would being an inanimate object matter? Even something as innocuous as a wire on a wall can kill you.

So you don't trust certain people with guns, or do you literally not trust the inanimate object gun?

First of all when you pull the trigger its not a inanimate object. Then an asshole with a gun can kill alot of people in seconds. Then when said asshole surprises you, it doesn't matter how many guns you have. He will shoot and kill you first. So guns have to go.....and they will.

It's a matter of risk management for me. I'm just unwilling to risk accidental discharge, be it through malfunction or otherwise, and the best way to do that is to simply not to be willingly around guns for long.

Now that's a personal thing, and I know people that feel differently about it. My associate, for example, would be described by boutons as a "gun-fellator", does compe ive shooting, is a cool cat, and there's nothing wrong with that, IMO.

The Grand Theatres are private property. If you fail or refuse to follow this Code of Conduct, you will be asked to leave the theatre, and may be banned from all The Grand Theatres. If you fail or refuse to leave when requested to do so, you will be arrested and prosecuted for criminal trespassing.

    OUR THEATRE PROHIBITS
    • Outside food or drink
    • Smoking including e-cigarettes
    • Possession of firearms or weapons of any kind regardless of whether openly orconcealed, with or without a permit

these nuts aren't going to stop targeting gun free zones, time to eliminate them all together and give the citizen a chance.
Just a matter of time before "more guns would have prevented this" crap comes and here you go.

You're the arbiter of the "terrorist" label. What say you? Is this guy a "terrorist"? Oh wait, the answer is obvious. He's not a muslim. So no. He's a "lone wolf". He has "mental problems". Got it. Thanks for your input.

So someone jumps up and starts shooting. You got 30+ people between you and the shooter.

    Do you shoot?

This is the first year I've started checking my gun and bringing it when traveling on business. Always considered it too much of a hassle but I'm willing to deal with the extra wait time, especially since I travel to LOL Florida so often.

Well no when the trigger is pulled it isn't inanimate, hence the word inanimate. So said asshole always wins...you sure about that? And no, guns aren't going anywhere, learn to deal with that as I have.
