As long as you admit you had no reason at all.![]()
ok. but i did. and you've spent the last 2 pages talking about it.
you're welcome for giving you something to do
As long as you admit you had no reason at all.![]()
i already did a few posts ago
Yes, you did admit you had no reason at all.![]()
Holy two Philos going at it. It's a Phile-off!
This definitely seems possible. That kid is totally mean-mugging the camera. I think the odds are really low he didn't know the political/legal implications of what had happened by that time, so maybe he was just upset at the people taking the picture. I dunno. The fact that he knew it looked su ious and refused to put it away or explain it does seem like grounds for discipline. The kid may well have been trolling everyone.
Did he say that? I don't recall. I haven't seen a ton of justification for it, and even less for why he kept whipping it out and wouldn't put it away. The uncertainty was whether the kid wanted people to believe it was a bomb. Completely separable from the fact that it wasn't one. He wasn't detained for having a bomb, but for pulling a hoax. Despite what some have said in this thread, that was always the reason he was detained.
Despite what you keep trying to say, it's entirely possible that the police were completely in violation of the law by trying to question him without his parents and that the kid was an asshole who does not deserve the public support he's getting. Those two things can exist together just fine. Just like it was possible for Michael Brown to have been wrongfully killed by the police and still be a shining example of how easily an asshole idiot kid can get himself shot up. Anyone with an shred of perspective can see that. What revelations are you saying are possible here.
I can't think of any that will change my mind. The school and the police overreacted and continue to act stupidly about thie. Your best argument is that the Muslim kid may have been uppity.
I absolutely didn't. There isn't a post in this thread where I suggested the police were justified in their interrogation method. In fact, I'd venture to say there isn't a post in this thread where I HAVEN'T said the police were absolutely NOT justified in their actions. There is something wrong with your reading comprehension or your intellectual honesty. You made it clear that you think this could all be justified if the Muslim kid was more uppity than has already been reported.
Well, besides that not being what I said, it's not too far off from the reality. A kid who hasn't been any trouble tries to do something illegal but really not that bad can often get off. Again, you must not remember high school at all, or you weren't very observant when you were there. That's stupid.
Kids drink in school all the time now. It's best to be cool about it because nothing bad could ever happen.
So David posits that the school arrested the chillin because he was being sassy, I guess bomb hoaxes are equivalent to being sassy.
Nice post. Key part is the Cuban phone call where sister is coaching, if not giving kid exact answer(s) to say.
"my hobby is to invent stuff"
didnt know this kid invented the clock. for next year's science fair, i wonder if he's gna invent a paper mache volcano or invent a potato battery
David, it wasn't a bomb hoax. Even you could probably tell it wasn't a bomb.
Maybe
If it was a bomb then it wouldn't have been a bomb hoax. The subject is spelled out in the predicate here.
It wasn't even a bomb hoax.
It was a clock in a pencil case.
No charges.
Even against a Muslim.
It's as if you didn't read or watch the actual news. He was suspended for a bomb hoax which is part of the zero tolerance policy. You don't like, tough luck, go protest.
The "clock" was a bunch of jumbled wires and a printed board with a screen panel that showed time increments mashed up in a faux suitcase for pencil storage. I'm sure the police knew the kid had no idea how to make a real bomb, because he sure didn't make a clock either, he just dissembled an old one. But that's not the point.
he was suspended. the arrest was just for show.
Whose show?
Where was the "bomb" part of the "hoax bomb"?
Was it in a pencil?
Why would a bomb hoax have to have a "bomb"?
Lastly, are you ignorant of what a pencil case is?
This is a timer hoax at best.
No, I am mocking you. Apparently you are ignorant of that.Lastly, are you ignorant of what a pencil case is?
Rent free.
Fail. Since all it was is a timer, how can it can't be a hoax?
However in this case you would have been a faux idiot and not a true idiot. No, I am mocking you. Apparently you are ignorant of that.
But I have no incentive or proof to believe you so far.
Who isn't one?
substance free
Because if it's a timer it's a real timer. How can a real timer be a hoax?
To believe i am mocking you?If you were to believed, that would follow. However in this case you would have been a faux idiot and not a true idiot.
But I have no incentive or proof to believe you so far.
I'm always mocking you, as are many others. You're a running joke around here. Thanks for the laughs.
Our local junior high had a rash of bomb hoaxes last year (notes left in restrooms). Caused the entire school to be evacuated multiple times in a couple of months. Administrators set up cameras too specifically watch rest-rooms, caught the kid doing it.
He wasn't muslim.
He was arrested.
