Did the PATFO pass on him b/c of the cap space issue (for LMA) since he wasn't a draft & stash guy? He can play passable defense especially for a backup (better than Marco) & can handle the ball (better than Danny). He would have be a bargain replacement for Marco instead of being a dead weight like Jimmer

Simple answer dude...The spurs needed players willing to be stashed. There was going to be tons of roster uncertainty post draft and it was wise to get someone that was willing to be stashed.

Clearly spurs wanted cap space to throw at LMA and to resign some guys. Draft was b4 free agency and they even had to trade Tiago so yea, getting RJ, not in the line of possibilities.

I like Hunter. IMO, he would've been a good pick. He probably was a single or double pick. Perhaps, the Spurs were swinging for a homerun with Mulitnov though.
