Bobby Ross is the only good head coach they've had in my entire fandom. And of course, Alex and Dean Spanos ran him off for threatening the status quo. In Chargerland, the Spanos family's unchallenged authority matters more than winning football games and championships.

I still think Marty got fired too quickly. It wasn't a great coaching performance at all but he's not the reason they lost that New England game imo.

Marty shouldn't have been hired to begin with. He was a career loser who shat down his leg in the playoffs. I still maintain that McCree's fumble wasn't as bad as Marty's re ed decision to challenge it. Thanks to his senile old ass, we blew a timeout that we could have used on the last drive. Instead, we had to rely on a career choker in Kaeding to make a 50-yard FG = automatic loss.

Regardless, it's a key misconception that Marty got fired for the playoff loss. That would require Dean to give a about winning and losing. No, Marty got fired because he tried to set up his friends and family with jobs even though Dean and AJ told him not to. In other words, he was fired for not kissing the ground Dean walks on. Ironically, Dean himself is one of the most nepotistic owners in sports. Our lead scout is still Dean's totally underqualified son

Also, the outrage over firing a coach that "just went 14-2" is ridiculous. We went 2-2 against playoff teams in the regular season that year, and both wins were against mediocre 9-7 teams (Chiefs and Seahawks) that backed their way in. Marty hid behind a weak schedule that year and got exposed in the playoffs again, just like his meltdown against the Jets in 2004.

Still better than Norv and Mike Mc nuggets.

Why not haul Gus Bradley's ass out of Jacksonville or something. No firings will happen anyway, Chargers could go 2-14 but no one will be fired because 'players got dinged up and it wasn't my fault '

That's a low bar to clear, but I'd say they're all equally ty. I'd include Kevin Killdrive, June Jones, and Mike Riley in that list too.

Even if they were fired, Dean has proven over and over again that the replacements won't be any better.
