I mean seriously how shameless do you have to be to do that...beautiful game vids are being created, '14 Spurs are being called the greatest display of team basketball ever, being hailed for the unselfishness, etc. And how does Rique respond? By doing the most Enrique thing imaginable, and ending that glorious display of team basketball by going full blown hero mode. Only Enrique and maybe Kobe would do such a thing.

Yeah, I'm sure the same team that had dominated the Heatles for three straight games really needed Enrique to put his hero cape on.

Good thing the voters saw through his stat padding BS and gave the FMVP to a deserving player.
You do realize that Parker played in those other 3 games as well right? This takes nothing away from Kawhi, well-deserved FMVP. But to say the guy that led the team in scoring in the regular season, playoffs, and Finals didn't matter to the team is silly. That Spurs team could win any given game without any particular player. See game 1 where Kawhi forgot to suit up...actually he did: 9 pts, 2 reb, 0 ast, 4 tov. Can you imagine if Parker had a game that bad?

Sure, but I didn't say Kawhi or any one player made the beautiful game go. You're the one that said Enrique did. Truth is, he was actually the most selfish player on that team.

Lol, I can't think of any other scenario in the history of basketball where a player would get ragged on for going 6/7 for 14 points in the 4th quarter of a closeout game to secure a championship. You guys are such haters it's ridiculous. Haha, wow.

Hahahaha selfish! Give me the list of other players who have led their team in assists for 15 years in a row.

The championship was secure. Team ball was dominating. Enrique did it for selfish reasons not because the team needed it. He closed out the greatest display of team ball ever by doing the most Enrique thing imaginable.

Pretty sure Kobe led the Lakers in apg for a bunch of years they had DFish at PG. I guess he's not selfish either!!

That's where we disagree. Has 6 not happened, you would have probably said being up by 5 with 28 seconds means the championship is secure. We only wish Tony would have kept the ball in his hands after he hit the 3 over Lebron to tie the game, stole the ball, hit the runner over Chalmers to put the Spurs up, and then got the outlet to Manu. We all know what happened after that.

In game 5 in 2014, we were up by 15 with over 10 minutes left. We were up by 10 in the 4th quarter of G6 the year before. I know 5 points seems like a world of difference to you, but you're going to blame a player for closing that door? Wow, I know you don't like Parker, but to be mad about him making sure nothing crazy happened again is just silly.

I know you guys compare Parker to Kobe a lot...for the record, you're not making Parker look real bad when the worst thing you can say about him is he's similar to a top-10 player of all-time.

Don't compare the two years, Rique . The Spurs had just gotten two blowout wins in Miami. They had the most playoff wins by 15+ points ever. They didn't need anyone to put their hero cape on.

Lol, did you play sports growing up? You would make a great coach. "Hey guys, we're up by 15. There's only 10 minutes left in this game. It's a done deal."

You do remember the Curry/Thomson Warriors being up by 17 with 3:57 left against the Spurs in the playoffs and choking it away the year before right? Lol, 10 minutes!

And just so we're clear, you do remember the Spurs executing the biggest choke job the year before in the history of sports right?

Haha, go back and watch the "Beautiful Game" video (where that name came from):

There's no other Spur in that video more than Parker. His driving is what starts that sequence more than any other catalyst. Lol, Parker hasn't "learned" it...he makes it run.
Tony makes one pass when his lane has been closed. Most often that's to Tim or a big because by then he's already out of kick out options and surrounded. He doesn't have great court vision. The "beautiful game" didn't come about until recently, and that's odd given Parker has been there since the early 2000's. Boris, Manu, Marco, Patty, Tiago. That's the beautiful game. Tim is an underrated passer as well, and has good court vision, but those other guys are accustomed to deferring so passing is in their genetics (except Manu, he's just inhuman).

It's ok. Tony's game has elevated the Spurs on more occasions than I care to count, but he hasn't evolved. You can see it when he enters the game, the entire game slows to a crawl.

So what? Tim's been here even longer. Manu's been here almost as long. By that logic, we need to attribute the beautiful game to Boris (the only one who's consistently played in these high-octane offenses)...which is great...Boris was obviously a huge part of it...but so were the other guys. Tony's just the one who it starts with (starting PG, leading assist-man).

You can attribute it to whoever you want. Just understand that the term you're using was coined from a video that primarily featured Parker. But you can redefine it...it's a free country.

Shut up, got. That team was on a mission. They weren't losing. Nobody is saying they should've taken their foot off the gas pedal simply that Rique's hero show was unnecessary. Team ball could've just as easily closed out that game against an already deflated Heatles team.

And the stupid c**t brigade shows up again. Someone else said it, but I'll repeat it...you f**kwits are more interested in denigrating someone than for cheering the Spurs on. You are definitely no Spurs fans.

This is sports. You never frieking know. I was at that Warriors game and they were just destroying us (I remember because a Warriors fan behind me was in my ear the whole game). We looked done and then the Warriors just went ice cold. Are you telling me there was absolutely no chance of us going cold in the 4th? Is that a risk you're willing to take? Yah, odds are it doesn't happen, but if we proved a 17-point lead could be choked away in a playoff game with 3:57 left AND that a 5 point lead could be choked away with 0:28 left, why in the world would you not think it was possible to choke away a 15-point lead with 10:15 left?! That's making up a 3-pointer every 2 minutes...not that crazy.

I wish I had the stats on how many times teams have choked away a 15 point lead with 10:15 or less...easily hundreds of games if I had to guess.

The '14 Spurs weren't your run of the mill team. They weren't going to lose that series. You can spin it all you want to justify your hero putting his cape on but I'm not buying it.
