trash qb playing in a new scheme that inflates stats behind a great pass protecting o-line, good receivers, and best receiving back of his era
He was traded... Went to a completely different scheme and is asked to do completely different things. ty take.

well, he is the only one to have made it work though. Pretty much the same lineup with the likes of Vick couldn't do crap. Chip could be fired after this season..
thats like saying ronnie brown was the only one to make the wildcat work.
it was a gimmick offense that had good results then got solved
Raven, why are you such a huge Foles fan? I've met the guy personally and was a huge fan of his in college (maybe the best QB ever to play for Arizona and he wasn't arrogant about it at all), but it's pretty obvious he's a below average starting QB at the NFL level.
Well I don't think he is. I'm not really a fan, I'm a fan of very few players and among qbs it's probably just Carr. I do respect many others, but anyway, by skillset alone I consider him probably around #10-15 in the league.
that 3 game skid really put the raiders in a tough spot. losing on the road to pitt isn't embarrassing (even though we had chances to win)... and losing at home to the Vikes isn't the worst thing in the world (they're 8-3 right now), but the dud against Detroit will probably end up being the fork.
that said, the win today kept us alive in things. at 5-6, we're still only a game out of the last wildcard spot (jets and chiefs tied). we play KC at home next week and already have the heads up against the jets... so next week is essentially a playoff game for us against a division opponent.
Carr rebounded after a couple of bad games, and is on pace for 4,200 yards, 35 TD's, 9 INT's despite barely playing in week 1. both cooper and crabtree are on pace to eclipse 1,000 yards, and latavius is on pace for over 1,000 rushing yards. murray has been terrible when Rodney Hudson (starting C) has been out, like today
First "resume" game for Carr next week?
I'd say so. The Jets/Steelers games were huge, too, but those were early enough in the season where while pivotal, they weren't make-or-break games.
KC has been rolling, but we're at home.
Why ya so concerned over winning games this season? I'd be more into a higher draft pick since there is no hope for a playoff spot.
Obviously the Raiders are heading in the right direction, leave it at that.
i think establishing a winning culture is more important to this team than picking 3-4 spots higher. with a young team like this, you want wins. teams build on them, and success can carry over to next year. having wins under your belt gives you confidence to get wins in tough spots going forward.
if we were a team about to rebuild, without a quarterback, i'd be more likely to go along with tanking. we're 1 game out of a wildcard spot, it would be silly to not give a young squad the opportunity and invaluable experience. the environment of "must-win" games, etc. we got none of that last year. imagine by some divine miracle we crack a wildcard spot and get a playoff game. even though we'd probably get blown out, just having a game in a playoff environment will be a great learning experience...
I'm sure they are well aware of the fact they aren't ready for prime time yet, having yet to beat any team with a winning record. And now it gets rough with both KC games and in Denver and vs a GB team in desperation mode.
Unless the playoffs are realistic I'm more into draft picks, that's why I hope the Niners don't win another game.
I have no doubts the Raiders will be in the playoff mix in 2017, maybe even 2016.
1 game out with 5 games to go is still considered "in the mix" by virtually any standard. i dont think we are a team that will benefit much from tanking. tanking in the draft only really matters if you are targeting a QB with the #1 pick or something (like the colts did for luck)
Come on guy, don't get silly, ok?
You might win one of the Chief games, beat the Chargers. No way in ya win both Chief games, beat the Broncos there and beat the Packers. No playoffs this season and it should be very obvious.
any given sunday. 1 game out with 5 games to go, and we play a team 1 game ahead of us this week, at home. and you want the raiders to mail it in? sheesh, you can always tell the rookies
Dude, can you read? I said why are...YOU...so concerned with winning this season? Where did I say anything about the Raiders tanking, well? Dude, it will not matter if ya go 8-8 or 7-9 now will it? Other than a higher draft pick, got it?
You do know KC has a cake walk schedule left, right?
Indy/Hous
Den/KC
Cincy/Pitt
NE
That's the AFC playoffs.
Cool the silliness, ok?
if you are 1 game out with 5 games to go, then you are very much concerned about the playoffs. everything else you said is irrelevant. such a stupid conversation
Oh my God, hahaha!!!!!! Dude, there are 8 AFC teams with winning records, ok? Keep it real little fella, ok?
I do like your spunk as funny as it is.
5 of those 8 are 6-5. the raiders are 5-6
No ?
Dude....
KC
at Denver
GB
SD
at KC
So ya win two of those, 7-9 won't make it.
The Chiefs will win at least one of the Raider games, beat SD, beat Browns, so they are in.
Look at what Indy, Houston have left on their schedule.
Keep it real little guy, ok?
the chiefs have been playing well, but is it out of the realm of possibility that oakland beats them? is green bay really playing well? are the chargers? can brock have a mistake-filled game as a guy with just a couple of starts under his belt? can happen...
So Denver can beat NE but not the Raiders, ha~~~~~~~~~~ The Packers can beat the Vikes but not the Raiders? Do you honestly believe you're going tio beat KC twice? Sure ya can beat the lowly Chargers.
You really are one of those blind to reality because ya like a team aren't ya? Dude, ya have given up 280 points this season, now compare that to the other 5-6 and better AFC teams, ok?
YES and YES, the Raiders are coming on, but to think they make the 2015 playoffs is rookie, ok?
i never said denver can't beat the raiders, and i never said GB can't beat the raiders
the raiders will deservedly be underdogs in both games. i dont think its outside the realm of possibility that the raiders can steal one of those games
So how many of the next five games will they win?
we dont know
