He's been that way since Kawhi won Finals MVP and rang.
Agree with this.
Kawhi is a star though.
Don't want to diminish him.
But obviously the Pacers are not the friking Spurs, nor is the Pacers' offense the same as the Spurs.
He's been that way since Kawhi won Finals MVP and rang.
Or you could look at this way, Kawhi is putting up monster stats playing with a few hall of famers. His numbers would go way up if he was the go to guy on a ty eastern conference team.
Oh I know lol. Was referencing his tweet where he said PG was way better than Kawhi and that Kawhi was just a system player.![]()
There are people here that thought Jimmy Cancer was better than Kawhi, too..
There are still some of them, I'm sure of it tbh. Calispurs guy, someone tag him tbh.
So where do we put kawhi on sf's tbh? Only KD and Lebron are probably still better, but with Kawhi emerging as a 20+ ppg guy 8 ppg 2 spg 1 bpg, locking down the other team's best wing, can we put him above KD and below Lebron? Or dare to say above both![]()
Kawhi is slightly better than Durant, tbh..only Curry and Lebron are clearly better overall players IMO..I suppose you could make arguments for Durant and Westbrook, though..
But Lebron is still head-and-shoulders better?
Kawhi will get that nod when he develops counters on his postups against the likes of Mbah a Moute & gets to the line more than Mario Chalmers![]()
Isn't kawhi a better overall player than curry considering his defense? Curry is definitely the most valuable, but overall?
Damn, 0 second half points and 1/14 shooting overall fit PG. Haven't seen a Spur dominate a marquee match-up so bad since Enrique schooled Westbrook a couple years ago.
There are many players that are better than him offensively(Lebron, Irving, Curry, Harden, Paul, Griffin, Durant, Westbrook, maybe Cousins, maybe Lillard, maybe Lowry), but his ability to erase opposing stars can't be ignored, especially when most of the players in this comparison are average to poor defensive players..
kawhi should really learn on going to the line tbh. Will give him a good extra 6 ppg
Yup, most of them were also jump shots where kawhi just D'd him up 1v1. Although that Timmy block on a PG dunk attempt was sweet![]()
He should adapt Wade's shot fake/counters since he already has his postup/mid-range game combo. Melo is his doppelganger but Kawhi's game is more similar to post-2011 Wade than Kirby, it's just that his range extends all the way to the 3 point line. Even Melo isn't that good at drawing fouls compared to other elite scorers.

It's good of PG to bounce back after that horrific injury, but Kawhi passed him as a player once the injury happened.
Definitely makes the East a little bit more interesting
I would like to see Durant play in a free flowing offense before I declare Kawhi as the better player The guy at his best is essentially a 7ft version of Curry as he proved during his MVP season (well at least in the regular season). Durant/CP3 & Blake/Russ are probably better pairings for both Durant/Westbrook. CP3 would spoon feed KD like Rondo/Ray Allen & Russ would have a PnR/PnP big who can make plays unlike Kanter/Ibaka
, would be upgraded to Wade/LeBron PnR status.
Westbrook/Durant are the modern day Dirk/Nash & would have just as much success separately if they had an offense built around each one.

KL is the third best SF in the world, let's not get carried away though KD is still above him for now
On offense maybe.
Paul George had a bad night, he's still Paul George. It just happened that way because Kawhi Leonard is still Kawhi Leonard.
Where do you rank PG at the moment? Obviously Kawhi is top 5. Is PG top 10?
He was playing mvp level until the last 2-3 weeks maybe.
For me so far this year it's like
tier1:Curry
tier2:Bron, Whi, Durant, Blake, WB,
tier3: drummond, pg, harden
He might have a case for top 10(3rd tier) so far this season but he's gotta up the D, even Pacers fans in pacers digest aren't fond of his defense.
