Well, you are partially correct. That is ONE of the things that make him so annoying.

But there are so many others...

I knew it was too good to be true that he would actually stay away after saying he would ( kinda like him swearing that he would 'never post again' if Kawhi didn't score something like 29 points one night?) Kawhi didn't but Apo never blinked....just keeps coming back.

Most recently AGAIN announced he was leaving the forum, only to be back in a week!

It was kind of nice to have civil discourse in the games when he was gone, though. Pleasant break.

Thanks for setting me straight... I was only seeing part of the picture!

LMA won't make it not because of deserving legends like Tim/Dirk but Kirby. I hope LMA goes beast mode like he did back in 2011 when he got snubbed. I'm also hoping Tony doesn't make it so he can keep playing w/ a chip on his shoulder instead of reverting into a content fat pig.

They have to start using the Electoral college system to mitigate the Chinese votes, tbh. Kirby all of a sudden became a SF b/c he didn't want to split votes w/ Curry/Westbrook. He announced his retirement a week before the voting opened to pick up all the sentimental votes while it's still top story, dude is a calculation diva.
Yeah, I don't think Aldridge makes it, even if his play steadily improves and the Spurs' record remains gaudy.

Projected starters: Griffin, Durant, Bryant, Westbrook, Curry

Projected reserves (locks): Leonard, Green, Paul, Harden, Davis, Thompson

Final spot will go to one of: Nowitzki, Cousins, Gasol, Aldridge

Thompson shouldn't be a lock, both because he started slow and because he's nothing more than an (elite) glorified role player, but the consensus will foolishly be that they deserve three for their gaudy record.

Nowitzki is a beloved figure, Carlisle is head of the coaches association and will inevitably campaign for him and they're seen as a surprise team.

Cousins is a despised figure, but he's also the best of the four and they should hang on the fringes of the playoff race because of how shallow the conference is.

Gasol also started slow and is neck and neck with Thompson as the most overrated player in the league, but he's beloved all the same and they could easily have the best record of the three.

Aldridge hasn't been the Spurs' second best player, but that doesn't matter; this is about perception. He'll need their record to stay gaudy to have an outside chance.

San Antonio is piss poor with player support tbh. Someone like TD should regularly get 500k in votes.every year.

Kawhi is having an MVP season and still trails Griffin.

Empty seats, all star support etc. SA Is a piss poor sport city.
Take away the name and go by just the stats and TD has been a border-line all star in recent years at least by conventional standards. As for this year, KL came on a bit late and Blake is a bigger brand name. You may not like that; but merely saying it comes down to player support is over stated at best.

Minnesota got Kevin Love to start in the All Star game. If they can do it, we definitely should. Our fans are better aren't they. Starters are picked by the fans. We can do better. He's fourth. We can easily get him in, in appreciation. I'm gonna start voting everyday, make a thread, and try to get pounding the rock guys and 48 moh to post. Someone's gotta do it. Kawhi is too good and he deserves it. And it's so easy to vote. Alot of people are being lazy. kawhi has single handedly saved this team from being a playoff team that doesn't go far.
Was it really just MN fans? Love had eye popping stats that run of the mill fans picked up on. KL over Blake is a selection for a more sophisticated fan.

Griffin will be out for a significant amount of games. Kawhi will Grab the starters spot from him. He will make the team though because it is pretty aparent the coaches.care very little about All star games and treat it mostly for fans. He will will make it just like Durant made it last year despite missing so many games...but who knows though

Griffin-Dirk-Aldridge are the only real contenders for that spot.

It the spurs continue to win at the current pace, they should have 2 all stars imo

Kawhi is a lock, doesnt matter if he starts or not, on his resume he is gonna be a 1x time allstar. Aldridge needs to be the other player to represent the spurs tbh

Would be nice to get 1 of the Big 3 in there with Kawhi, but Aldridge is probably more likely.

Merit has little to do with who starts, Griffin is more of a household name and casual fans probably account for the majority of the voting. Either way, they're both locks to be selected.

I think coaches do care because they know the majority of players do.

The best players should always be selected. Games played and who's having a better season to date should matter more with the final few spots.

Cousins and Gasol both have a chance. Really, Cousins and Aldridge should get the final two spots and Thompson should be left off, but that's not happening.

I disagree. I dont think Durant should have made it last year. He hardly played pre All star. Hes a household name that the coachs could not.leave..other frontcourt players.were more deserving.

I made my picks today and clicked the link that uses some algorithm to predict player stats should my picks get to the All Star Game. Pretty accurate:

I could care less that he hardly played because I know that, had he played a lot more, he'd have been what he's been for years and is again this year: One of the top handful of players in the league. That should supersede good fortune.

And thats why I dont think coaches care much about it. Do they care, sure..but only to an extent. You dont make the Allstar game if you dont play.

I think they do, but they probably have the same mentality I have, at least in terms of players who'd otherwise be locks.
