Salty, but not dismissing him like Durant. LBJ just seems like he doesn't want to spend too much time praising an opponent.

Even last year Lebron had to bench himself many times in SA because Kawhi is a ing beast on defense.

Also when asked about Kawhi's improved offensive game he said that it's because Kawhi is getting more opportunities now and any player that gets more opportunities will improve.

Kawhi is straight up Lebron's nemesis.

Kawhi gets plenty of help. You don't have the no.1 defense because of one player. Just doesn't happen. They all play their part. Kawhi is the best one on one defender in the league, but he also has probably the most intelligent help defense on his side too.

New age spur fan salty enough without begging to drink LeBron's tears
You're giving me a semi talking like that. I can't believe there are more Spur fans on here watching games with eyes wide open.

Kawhi's got plenty of help. It's a team sport. No individual defends Lebron the way Kawhi does, and Lebron knows it. Don't expect him to be happy about it. Nobody likes getting shut down. You guys know this from the years Bruce Bowen was doing it.

The don't want to hear that. They want to hear that Kawhi does it all by himself. That's what happens when you only watch highlights in between going to the fridge to grab a 2 liter of Dr. Thunder and then the pantry for a box of Hill Country Fare Choco creme cookies.

TBF there is a lot of truth in THIS thread. Typical Spurfan buys the 2nd coming of the glove hype. The DPOY trophy should go to 1a and 1b Tim and then Kawhi

The Spurs have a premier defender in Kwahi and a supporting cast in a defensive system that really makes it difficult for him to bully his way into layups like he does against so many teams. Finally, we have the depth that allows us to run on offense and wear that big boy out. By the 4th quarter, he's really sweating and looks gassed and starts to shoot jumpers that fall short.

And remember what he said about the Spurs offense when we beat the Heat for the championship. We move the ball so much with passes that the defense has to move their bodies to adjust and they get tired.

So just a coincidence that the defense is so much better with Kawhi on the team? Tim's presence had been a constant with good and mediocre defense versions of the spurs. But he's still awesome (I'm no player fan like you appear to be).

I think many of them are taking issue with Lebron's claim that the reason he's shut down is because Duncan's back there, which is utter and complete bull , as we all know.

That's just ing stupid. Just because the Spurs play great team defense doesn't mean Kawhi isn't far-and-away the best defender in the league. When a guy barely averaging 20 points per game is constantly in the conversation for best player in the world, it's not because of his pretty cornrows.

Who am I a player fan of? I am not saying that you can plug in Bonner and get the same results. I will say that with Tim on the floor, Bonner will look better on D. You take a good defensive player and add Tim and all of a sudden that player's defense is enhanced.

Let me explain it so that it makes more sense to you. A hotdog by itself is good. A hotdog smothered in ketchup is better.

Exactly. It's like telling Spurfan that he added another notch on his belt because he added another patty to his triple meat Whataburger to make is a quad. Of course he is getting fatter.

I feel like some SF secretly wish San Antonio was a large market so their stars would get broadcasted on ESPN 24/7 like Kobe tbh

Kawhi is a great defender, best in the league even, but he's not perfect. His average lateral quickness is one of his few flaws as a defender. Thankfully, his length and quick instincts make up for it a bit. Spur fans who pretend Kawhi is perfect are player fans.

So if we put in Anderson on Bron, Spurs system will still shut him down? Horse . We were not able to shut down Kobe even though Bowen was one of the most tenacious defenders out there. Use our system right now and put in someone else on Bron, and he'll probably score on him most of the time.

A chain will only be as strong as its weakest link!

I'm gettign tired of guys attacking Leonard. He has never said anything bad about anyone in the media and just ignores it. If Leonard is not a factor at defending Lebron, then WHY DOES HE REQUEST SCREENS SO MUCH TO GET LEONARD OFF OF HIM? Surely a "system defensive player" is someone he can dominate without needing screens right? He wasn't requesting screens for Tashaun Prince when he was tearing his asshole open in teh 2007 ECF game 5. One point during the game last night, Lebron wouldn't even consider trying to score if a screen wasn't coming to get leonard off of him so these guys need to shut the up.
