This is why people laugh at them. They are drama queens.
What does this guy think he will accomplish by not attending? One less idiot to serve food too.
Never heard of her.

Do these house negros really need whitey to pat them on the head that badly?
I think he and the others eventually want to accomplish a change in the demographics of the Academy.
Always such a white knight you are.
them.
So they dont get nominated for one year and everything is coming to an end? Give me a break.
If I was the head of the Oscar i would maake sure they never get nominated ever again, see how they like it.
Give them the Dicaprio treatment which by the way you dont see the guy crying over not winning .
A question was asked.
I answered it.
No reason for you to have a meltdown.
Everything is a meltdown to you.
When are you going to realize you cant make anyone mad here.
You're the poster child of being a flanboyant in these boards.
You're so angry that I answered a question that you asked.![]()
I'm not going to get trapped by your back and forth gotry. You know you love it when people give you an ounce of attention.
Better yet, don't lose your the next time someone simply answers your question.
Tell the talented actors to stop making and coasting. When Denzel, Freeman, Foxx, Cheadle, and Ojiofor were taking on challenging roles they were getting nominated.
Only two or three were honest to goodness snubs.
Just as many or more non-blacks miss out every year who are just as deserving.
I thought Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler was last year's biggest snub.
I think Tom Hardy for The Revanent is this year's biggest snub.
And I've seen Creed, Concussion, Straight Outta Compton, Selma...
As for Idris Elba, name me the last non-cinema film that was nominated for an Oscar? His nomination was done wrong by the medium, and, specifically, the first-to-streaming offering of Beasts Of No Nation.
Will Smith being nominated would have felt token. It wasn't that strong a role.
If Foxx or Ojiofor wanted to, I'd bet they could get nominated every year the way Denzel or Freeman used to. But each is cashing in and, specifically, Foxx hasn't had a challenging role in a decade.
WTF is wrong with all of you race baiters?
There are only 20 nominees. Five each of four categories. Whites make up 5/6th the lead actors and actresses in Hollywood. It can be statistically normal in a colorblind society that blacks, which are only part of the 1/6th do not get nominated.

Are we suppose to be racist, and start a quota system in awards?
Absolutely.
The producer of this years Oscars, the host, and the Academy president -- all are black.
Michael B Jordan should have been nominated period.
Nothing else to say on this subject.
Yeah, that was probably the only real snub.
u dont see white clowns winning at the BET awards...
Besides the assumption that there are only two races, I agree with this. It makes me sick that people are falling over themselves talking about the "opportunities" for black nominations wasted. Like there is supposed to be a special minority slot. One of the most demeaning things is to have your success qualified because of your demographics. I bet none of those guys want to be nominated just because they were "the best of the black guys."
Affirmative action was supposed to be a forced, temporary measure, not a standard for how we view fairness in the world.
But give me a break with this "them" . It wasn't like the actors came up and complained about no blacks getting nominated. To group the actors with the commentators is like grouping athletes with ESPN talking heads. Just stupid. And that's with me ignoring the probable implication that "them" means blacks in general, which would just be sniveling, beta .
Jada Pinkett Smith is one of the ones boycotting it so yes, them. Last I heard she herself is an actress so is not like is a bunch of twitter angry people mad about not being nominated.
if anyone should be complaining it's Ridley Scott, he got robbed by not even being nominated.
Did you really think this was a good retort? In context of this conversation, she is a commentator, one with a very obvious bias. You're literally suggesting never nominating MBJ or IE or any of the other supposed snubs ever again because of what another person said. Do you realize how stupid that sounds? At worst, she's sour-graping for her husband, like Welker's wife did a few years ago for Wes. Or Klay's father does repeatedly. What does that have to do with the rest of the group? Do you think JPS would have been happy if another black actor had been nominated? No. She was just pissed about her husband.
Obviously you took what I said about giving them the Dicaprio comment seriously.
It was a remark not meant to be serious. Half joking if you will.
The point I was making is that they percieve almost everything as a slight.
Do you think that for a second, this was racially motiviated? That they were snubbed because they were black? That's their thinking and why they're boycotting.
I doubt JPS feels her husband wasn't snubbed because of his race. He's been nominated for Oscars twice and lost to black men twice. I doubt even the staunchest race-baiters truly believe that white men would have been nominated for those roles. It's like assuming Rush believes everything he says. It's at best sociopolitical trash-talk. You have some extremist like Lee who think they can raise awareness or something, but that's it. Most black people don't care about which rich guy gets what award. It's such a one-percent problem.
