Andersons Knee to GNob intentional?

Really? I don't recall seeing many guys posting up and then kneeing his defender in the balls. I mean, if a "lot of guys" do this, you'd think there would be more "knee's to the balls" stories. Cuz, y'know...that's where knees would generally hit...

Like I said...this is move like throwing your elbows into someones face. Just lower...

One thing I've noticed (or not noticed...) about this incident.

Usually when a player seriously injures another, there is some sort of public statement from the perpetrator.

From Ryan Anderson...crickets.

I wondered when someone would mention this. Karl Malone was NOTORIOUS for this move, normally on drives, though.

Although I don't think the guy intended as much harm as Manu got, I think it was the second offensive foul that he didn't get called for in the same few seconds. It WAS clearly an offensive foul, imo. Never called.

And yes, if I were a member of this team, I would find a way to remind Ryan Anderson about it the next time they play.

Well, I'm afraid that is a little nicer than what I had in mind. Verbally trashing the guy is fine, imo, but I kinda had more like "hard common foul' delivered by Boban to Anderson in the next game. Nothing that would be flagrant, but a hard foul from Boban would hurt worse than a flagrant from a normal sized teammate.

I also think that the home crowd might get into it with Anderson by taunting his attention to opponent's private parts.

Similarly, I expect that the next time the mavs come to the ATT center, they will get an earful about their guy who felt up Boban while trying to guard him. Just make fun of them.

It can. BUT YOU SEE IT COMING. I have played against guys who have done that. I counter by throw out my knee when I go up to contest. People get the picture really quick NOT to throw their knees when there driving to the basket on me.

, I have NEVER played with someone that threw their knee out WHILE IN THE POST. I have had defenders do that to me. I had a lighting fast first step so guys use to throw their knee out to stop me. But never had I been defending someone in the post and they threw their knee out like that. That is as low as you can go, no pun intended.

I'd expect to see a hook or a jump shot straight up with no knees..

The NBA teams used to have players, usually PFs, that were known as enforcers. Very tough guys who played rough on both sides of the ball. Everyone knew pretty much where the line was--and if it was crossed, the enforcer went after the guy. Some of those enforcers were legendary--Lovellette, Bad News Barnes, and my personal favorite, Maurice Lucas, etc. And the Spurs had their share in Rich Jones, Frank Brickowski, and George Johnson. Lots of enforcers weren't on the starting five and most weren't big scorers. They had one job to do--use up the six fouls if necessary to slow the other team down.

In general, elbows flew anytime someone went into the lane and the pick men would throw down a really hard pick. Those days are gone because of rule changes and most fans don't realize just how easy the game has become.

Exactly what I've been saying, he wasn't near the basket nor shooting a running hook to get the knee that high. When you look at the play from this angle...

...CLEARLY he didn't have the need to throw that knee as high. That wasn't a normal shooting motion. You do that and you're going directly to the hardwood if not for a person (Manu) doing the counterweight. The guys was on a mission and it was to take Manu out of the game. Probably just thinking "only" for the rest of the game but I have no doubt it was intentional.

It looks intentional to me. Theres a little unneeded skip there that would rob him of his push off power to the basket. What would the reason be if not for a dirty shot, and where else was that knee supposed to go his hip? No that was dirty. Think they just lost their edge over Spurs.
