He's listed at 220, now. That's better. Too bad he couldn't get his together in his time, here. Someone complained about him having a slow release on his shot? Not sure that ever posed a problem, even if it is slow, which I don't think it was, particularly. He had a really nice shot. And, he's a long-armed 6'11". He can get it off vs. anyone. That was never a problem. The more I followed him, the more I think he was a 14 year old trapped in a 27 year old's body. He just doesn't seem like a very mature kid. He was on social media and playing in the Drew League, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, de jour, and working on ball-handling too much, when he should have just been shooting in the gym. He did a lot of other things well enough that if he could have shot 40% instead of .333, while he was here, they might have gambled on him improving defensively, etc some more. But, Anderson was younger, already was a comparable, and in some regards, better player, and six or so years younger, and can shoot .333 from three, so we weren't giving up much in cutting Daye. Cleveland and Atlanta were intrigued enough to even try Daye out, afterwards. I guess he's found a home in Italy on the team his father played for...they seem to love him over there...from his social media attention whoring. He should have probably taken a page out of Lamarcus' book.
Daye wasn't it, but it would sure be nice to find a cheap stretch 4 in that mold. Just better.
I've read several wanting to turn Aldridge into a 3 point shooter, which would be great if he could knock them down, but, he's .350 career, and doesn't seem to feel that comfortable taking them. If we get a decent center, next year, maybe he will shoot more from the arc, but I like him closer.
