mens tennis is boring
“Obviously it’s a very delicate situation. Women deserve respect and admiration for what they are doing,” Djokovic said, according to The Guardian. “I applaud them for that, I honestly do. They fought for what they deserve and they got it. On the other hand, I think that our men’s tennis world, ATP world, should fight for more because the stats are showing that we have much more spectators on the men’s tennis matches.”

I've been of this opinion for quite some time and I'm glad one of the big guns finally had the balls to say this out loud. es wanna do 33% less work, sell less tickets, draw less viewers and still expect to get the same pay![]()
mens tennis is boring
lol women tennis
lol best of 3
womens tennis is boring-er apparently
pro tennis blows. not like the fun back in the day.
i think what he said should help bring attention to the game.
Why does Djokovic seem to be getting more heat than Raymond Wells here
who?
think i'll exit this conversation.

I don't really know exactly but he's the guy in the op link that Djovkioc was referring to that stated "women tennis players should get down on their knees and thank god for men players like Federer and Nadal"
You can watch women's tennis with your pants down. It's way better.
Tennis might be the one sport where women are just as entertaining as the men.
Long time tennis fan here. When women claim "equal work for equal pay," it is unfair for the women to get the same pay for less work. Nole is correct and has framed it in a way so as not to upset the WTA. Both sides should try for more money and since the men's field has the stats and data to back them up, they should get more - especially now that the WTA has lost one of their biggest star - Sharapova.
Women's tennis has no variety to it. They all bash the ball as hard as they can and grunt as loud as possible. There's been no beauty, variety of spin, etc since Justine Henin retired.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm female so (when I see that pic) I think that she's going have back ache when she gets older.
Never been a fan of female athletics. , a HS boys 4x1 team would smoke an Olympic gold medal womens 4x1 team. A fast female runs a 10.70, and that's world class. The HS boys record....10.00. That is a mile difference at 100m.
If we have to have female athletics, do it on another day and somewhere else. Never got into paying much attention to.."she's cute"...when it comes to sports, not the place for that.
HS boys? You dirty !
Dude, grow the up, ok?

Yep, wrong as you always are,
This is one of the biggest issues in the gender discussion that's being ignored for PC reasons. Back when I was working in loading part time, I had female co-workers who would routinely get out of almost all lifting. Some were gracious enough to act guilty about it. Some were pissed about being underestimated. Some soaked up the easy work day. But none of them did equal work, and they all got equal pay.
But what can you do? You can't pay them what they're worth relative to the men, just like you can't pay solely based on strength. It gets messy and leaves the company open to lawsuits by special-interest groups. It's just much easier to on the men and pay them less per labor unit.
And I agree on Tennis, and it shouldn't even be an issue. WNBA players don't get paid anywhere near their male counterparts because no one wants to watch their brand of basketball. I say this as a guy who was a big Comets fan as a kid.
Men's Tennis should've gone ape crazy when this equal pay was first announced. Considering that it has always been more popular and has always had to play best of 5 in GS Tourneys. Deep down these women have to know that don't deserve the same $$$ as their male counterparts, right?
IMO, pay should be market-based - whatever the market will stand. Just like men's basketball, if the men's tennis tour garners more interest/fans, then they should be paid more. The tennis world just like most of the US is PC - and the equal pay will never be walked back now - back then as now, it would be considered sexist. The Indian Wells director resigned over his comments (regardless of how true they were). With Sharapova gone, most people would be hard pressed to recognize more than 2 women tennis players (the Williams sisters).
Regarding playing skill, college men would easily beat the women. Remember 17 year old Boris Becker won Wimbledon, 17 year olds Michael Chang (beating Edberg) and Mats Wilander (beating Vilas) won French Opens - that's high school age.
these clowns dont make much in tennis...most of their income come from endorsements
only a handful makes money, rest is just making up t he numbers
