Tim will gain #2 all time wins stat if he comes back next season. Hits #1 if he comes back for 2. Yeah his career averages will fall but it doesn't matter. Most wins ever is a fly ass ing stat tbh.

Heard some stat on ESPN this morning: Duncan has more Wins than Michael Jordan has games played as a Bull.

    That's amazing!!

Duncan is done, doubt he`ll comeback, Manu said he basicly was ready to retire last offseason.

Eh. Manu's having an Indian Summer. He's looked done for large chunks of the year. If he can keep this up, obviously he's very useful, but it's also very possible that he'll continue to decline to the point where he has more bad days than good. Already you can see him forcing it a lot more and coming up empty. Only saving grace is that Anderson is there to take some of the load off Manu. If Ginobili can become a better off-ball presence, he can save his legs.

After what is hopefully a year-round basketball season for him, I don't know how much he'll have left to give. It's getting to the point where you can't just say "whatever percent Manu has to give is better than 100 percent for most players". The Spurs might have the cap space to get a legit guard in free agency this summer. They'll at least have to wonder if it makes sense to bypass that to keep a player who may not be able to play 1000 minutes next season.

Wonder what if any representations Tim made to LMA about staying should he sign with Spurs? In any event, doesn't the Spurs cap situation next summer make it such that we NEED Tim to stay one more year?

God bless Manu, but I think this may be it for him. It seems like the game is getting too fast for him these days.

I think they both come back, but Manu probably won´t.
Anyway, it´s a miracle Ginobili is still playing. People thought his NBA career would last 5/6 years tops with his style of play.

Duncan, right now, is healthier and in better shape than "end game" DRob, who was 2-3 years younger when he went out. If the right knee bone bruise was an isolated incident, and it looks to be, he could go another year or two.

Duncan is more than likely coming back. I see him opting in his contract. It's 50/50 for Manu. If the Spurs win it this year, I do believe they come back to defend the le. Something that has eluded them.

I am just going to enjoy the rest of the season at this point and think about when

    Leadership takes a huge hit.

Understated phenomena. Especially with good young players like KL who is not vocal, and fragile egos like LMA and possibly Parker.

They both have game still obviously. But their bodies are just not what they used to be and both would have to be 15mpg subs next season which I would love but I honestly feel they will retire. but they also seem like the kind that if they won a chip they would try to defend it imo

Dudes are coming back next year for the last go-around. They signed their contracts keeping that possibility in mind and their level of play hasn't dropped off too much (Timmy has had a bigger drop, but his last season was amazing for a 39 year old).

I think Manu goes to the Olympics and retires after that. I think Timmy gets back for 1 more season.

No. Timmy will perform an energy draining, legendary finals and disappear into dust as he scores the winning basket and earns FMVP.

Ginobili will give his last hoorah to his national team.

The only way I'd be okay with either or both leaving is if they won the le this year.
This. It would be great and would take away from me feeling like an idiot for not going to any of their games ever.

Do I think they have enough in the tank and could still contribute for another year? Yeah.

Do I think they'll choose to stick around for one more year? Nah, I don't think they will.

They have very bad luck at repeating. If they ring they should probably go out in the high note instead of trying to be luckier than they were when they were in their primes.

Not that I wouldn't love it if they repeated.

They dont need to sign contracts to have place in this team. If they want to play next year, they now who to call.

I read Pop told LMA that Timmy would be there for whatever time they would get with him, at least this season, but that after that, they would always get other guys to pursue a championship, and emphasized that the team had younger guys with Kawhi, Tony, and Patty (who all attended that meeting). No guarantees beyond this season. POP did guarantee that he would coach his contract out in contrast.
