Francis was so good he wasn't worth the same player Baron Davis outplayed in a playoff series before he (T-Mac) was damaged goods (back/knee).......thus the Rockets had to throw in 20 point scorer Cuttino Mobley.

Bruh, Jeff Van Gundy wanted to dump Francis worse that GM LeBron wants to dump Kyrie.

all your great moments of baron "outplaying" people is him taking a lot of shots and shooting 40% from the field. he was a low efficiency chucker.

mobley... he was an undersized, terrible defender who had a couple of nice years. he only had 1 season of good play after he was traded, whereas mcgrady was a top 5 talent in the game at the time, as they wanted a superstar to pair with yao

Iverson is a career 40% shooter in the playoffs but a 1st ballot HOFer.

Baron Davis is a career 44% shooter in the playoffs & WestBrick is a career 42% shooter.

Remember when WestBrick had to be rescued by Reggie Jackson:

iverson was about as efficient as francis (more efficient than davis) but with considerably higher volume, and was a great defender, which neither davis/francis were

    You must LEARN:

LL @ Iverson being a "great" defender; is it b/c he led the league in steals? (Baron also led the league in steals a couple of times)

Iverson shot 34% (TS: 43%) in the 2001 ECF against the Bucks which the Sixers won b/c they were playing 6-on-5: http://ballislife.com/the-2001-bucks...theory-series/

Baron Davis shot 44% (TS: 57%) against those same Bucks.

In 2003, they faced each other & Baron was MORE efficient (TS%): http://www.basketball-reference.com/...-vs-76ers.html

Baron outplayed T-Mac in his prime & MVP Dirk in a playoff series. Holla at me when Francis wins a Chinese league MVP.

I think i have settled on the Mavs as who i want the Spurs to meet if no Grizzlies..no way a team with JJ Barea as it best player for the past two weeks should take us to more than 4 or, at worst, 5 games in a series..

They should play the Worriers & avenge 2007 w/ Barea outplaying Wardell.

You sir are an epic dumbass for comparing Baron Davis to Steve Francis!!!

You are aware Baron Davis had an All-Star/All-NBA career w/ the Hornets before he ed up his back during the peak of his prime (ala T-Mac) & became a fat ?

2000-01: (2nd year in the league)
-Led an upset the Heat in the 1st rd: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...s-vs-heat.html
-Took the same Bucks that should have gone to the Finals if they didn't get jobbed by the refs against the Sixers to 7 games:

2002-03: (Mashburn misses the postseason b/c of illness)
-Outplayed All-NBA 1st team T-Mac & almost averages a triple double for the series: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...s-hornets.html

-Held his own against MVP candidate PEAK J-Kidd in the 2nd rd w/ David Wesley as his wingman: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...s-vs-nets.html

2003: Injured his back & missed a bunch of game but had a solid series against the Sixers: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...-vs-76ers.html

    2003-04:
-Starts the season on FIYAH & was the leading MVP candidate: http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/200...vis-heat-guard

...then he ed up his back before the all-star break & he never regained his peak form but showed flashes in Golden State ala T-Mac in Houston.

Meanwhile, Francis NEVER won a SINGLE playoff series (actually made the playoff ONLY once & won ONE game in his career), NEVER made an all-NBA team & was trash once he lost his quickness. If you want to compare Francis to anyone then it should be Marbury.
Good post tbh. Baron Davis seems underappreciated on here suddenly for some reason.

"more efficient"... 44.6 to 44.4 from the field, TS within 2 percentage points... in the meantime iverson was relied upon WAY more, averaging 35 a game while davis was scoring 20, while playing 80 more minutes over the course of the series

i have no interest continuing a conversation of which inefficient chucker was better than the other (we actually agree on who is better) or by how much. baron davis was a lesser version of westbrook, through and through

That's b/c the Hornet rarely got national TV appearances so MAINSTREAM folks didn't know how good he was until he had a career revival at Golden State. Otherwise, folks assume he was ALWAYS the fat chucker he was after his back injury.

WB is a top 5 player. MVP candidate? Definitely a candidate. Is he the top candidate? Nah. He's having a great season tho. LeBron, curry, Kawhi, and Paul are the ones I got. It's crazy how bad the cavaliers are without LeBron. Even at this stage of his career, he still turns arguably a non playoff team into a contender. Curry is playing out of his mind, and definitely the reason the warriors are so good. Kawhi is a major Cog in the machine that is the spurs. Paul is still arguably the best at making the players around him better. Without Paul, clippers are not contenders.

Pretty crazy how different each of those teams would be without their stars. They also deserve props.

He isn't even the best player on his OWN team. Durant is SIGNIFICANTLY better than him:

-Durant had his best season & won MVP/59 games when WestBrick was injured in 2013-14
-WestBrick put up empty stats & led OKC to the lotto when Durant was injured last season

Durant/WestBrick is just a less magnified version of LeBron/Kyrie

Except the "top 5" part b/c you already acknowledged Curry/Bron/Kawhi/Paul.... (Harden also outplayed him)

First 46 minutes of the game, there aren't many guys I'd rather have on my team than Westbrook.
