Then there's the story of the lunch, which spread throughout the Naval Special Warfare community. Guys still tell it, almost a decade later. Tiger and a group of five or six went to a diner in La Posta. The waitress brought the check and the table went silent, according to two people there that day. Nobody said anything and neither did Tiger, and the other guys sort of looked at one another.

Finally one of the SEALs said, "Separate checks, please."

    The waitress walked away.

"We are all baffled," says one SEAL, a veteran of numerous combat deployments. "We are sitting there with Tiger f---ing Woods, who probably makes more than all of us combined in a day. He's shooting our ammo, taking our time. He's a weird f---ing guy. That's weird s---. Something's wrong with you."

Not that Woods couldn't afford to pay, or even expected it. But I don't get why we should get behind those guys feeling en led to a free lunch. The ammo part I can totally understand, but that's not the part they decided to emphasize. And the fact that they're soldiers doesn't help their case at all.

Yeah...from the story, there isn't much to indicate that he should have picked up the check. I mean...it would have been a decent and cool thing to do but they shouldn't have expected it. Unless he was the one that asked them all to dinner. And it's not like they paid for the ammo.

My point is at this stage of that career if he never hit another golf ball his legend/iconic status is intact. Now it's just gravy time. To think anything can be ruined after all he's done, nay?

No not really. His....career....hasn't been tarnished at all, zero! Nothing is being ruined about his career.

You do understand the word, career.....right?

O.J.Simpson couldn't outrun defensive linemen at the end, Joe Namath could handly walk, both in the Hall of Fame.

How does it erase what his career has been which is great? He's done too much, made too much $$$$, it's simply too late to say he has a ruined career. He had a fantastic career.

The rating will never be the same, but you are already seeing players as good as Woods now. It doesn't seem like it because the top 20 guys on tour elevated their games to Tiger Woods like levels. This new generation drives it longer, has more creative short games, and putt better. I actually enjoy this crop of guy more than the Tiger era, the leader boards week in week out have been fantastic.
